The National Youth Service Corps has said that only 4,644,808 Nigerians have participated in the scheme since inception in 1973.

The NYSC Director-General, Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, stated this on Thursday at an ongoing press conference in Abuja, noting that the scheme had been able to achieve national unity and integration.

The DG added that 1,132,409 corps had also been equipped with Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development package of the scheme.

Then why are there no employments?
If only 4m plus have partook in NYSC since inception that means the figure really meant so much if truly NYSC is riling out the real figure and they’re being factual.

This figure is really really ridiculous. Maybe some aliens are taken up the jobs then or are there no jobs in Nigeria at all

I don't agree with this figure,a country that doesn't keep records, a country that doesn't know the number of its citizens, a country that was full of bad souls, a country that have failed itself..

Some people participated twice.

If this figure is true, a whole lot of 'graduates' are carrying fake certificates because 4m is no where close to the total number of unemployed graduates in Nigeria.

Less than 5 million graduates?

Well, some got exempted, sha,.but....

Since 1973?

Why are jobs so scarce, then, in a country of about 35-40 times that number?

Consider that some have emigrated, some are retired and some are dead, and you will realise how undeveloped this country is.

It's scary!

So who con dey get the jobs na.. If the number is this small cos statistically they couldn't have gotten more than 2 million in the last 10years.

I Don't believe this statement to be true knowing fully well that the exercise is compulsory before you can get any white collar Job in this nation. I presume the statement is just an assumption.

To God be the glory that we were. counted AMONG those that served our FATHER'S LAND.

And we are still alive in his grace and mercy contended with the good things of life.

Thank you darling Jesus.
