Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has commenced its annual developer conference. Huawei owned system which names has been put as; HongMeng OS, Ark OS, Oak OS, etc. However, the company just announced its “Harmony OS”. It can now be seen that this open-source platform is the final name for the popular HongMeng System. After the relaxation of the U.S. ban, many top officials of Huawei claimed that the HongMeng system is not for smartphones. However, at the release conference, this system is for smartphones, smart speakers, computers, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, cars, and tablets. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, spoke on the Harmony OS.

This system is “the first microkernel-based distributed OS for all scenarios,” and it s RAM sizes ranging from kilobytes to gigabytes. Harmony OS is compatible with HTML5, Linux, and Android apps but it appears that the compatibility still needs some development. Yu said, “They (apps) will all be able to run on our OS in the future,” Richard Yu said.

Furthermore, Huawei’s CEO believes that HarmonyOS is an alternative to Android on its smartphones. However, the company will still remain with Android for now. According to Yu, “If we cannot use Android in the future, then we can immediately switch to HarmonyOS,”

For us to migrate from Android to Harmony OS “is not that difficult.”. The “ARK Compiler used for this system s Kotlin, Java, Javascript, C, and C++”. There will be a launch of the Honor Vision TV tomorrow in China. This is presumably the first device to use the Harmony OS.

When android came into play early 2004/2005, just few had it, now billions have it.

It's only a matter of time... If the hongmeng os is top Notch, give it few years. Android market will divide.

Harmony OS only has a future in China (and maybe Russia).

Huawei can see the future, that's why they're diverging away from the smartphone market.

harmony is not even built to compete with android but Fuschia (Google's proposed android replacement) which they plan to build on micro kernel just like Harmony. Android does not even have a future, Google already know and are planning for it

If The compilers on Harmony OS can effortlessly compile and run APK softwares, then andriod own don be be that because all andriod app are scattered on other sofware markets outside google play store

Aye Andriod yaf kpafuka be that, because if harmony runs apk files, with good C# , Java and pearl compilers all other chinese mobile phones like techno and infinix would opt for harmony and still offer apk files for on independent app stores while the block Google play store.

Even all this naija trump ers would quickly rush harmony chinese devices because Product like Google Nexus and Windows/Nokia and Samsung are quite out of their financial reach

In a good mood and will want to buy 10people breakfast or data this morning. I asked for 500 naira to feed but if your notice I did not give my acct details cos I wanted to see anyone signify benevolence to me. Nobody except 1 fellow that asked told me to go find work. Lol.
