he All Progressives Congress (APC) has mocked former National Chairman, John Oyegun, saying he and the National Working Committee he led as National Chairman lacked the courage required to confront the pockets of political despots who could not operate by the party’s rules. The party cited the National Assembly saga in 2015 that saw the emergence of Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Yakubu Dogara as Speaker against party wishes, while Oyegun could not do anything about it till he left office. PC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, in an interview with journalists, spoke in reaction to Oyegun’s comments that incumbent chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, was leading the party using “agbero” (tout) style. The resultant effect, he said, was widespread indiscipline across party ranks, lack of respect for party supremacy as witnessed in the 8th National Assembly leadership and its overall inability to align the varying interests of the legacy parties that came together to form the APC in 2014. “Let me agree that the NWC that led the party into the 2015 elections and continued till June 2018 did nothing different from what you would find in PDP. “It was a period the party was seen as a mere vehicle to attain political office. The system accommodated impunity as certain appeared to be superior to the party. “Their interests were far more important than the collective interests of the APC, even when most times such interests are at variance with the ideals the party stand for. “You would recall that it was under that leadership that some impudent of APC called the bluff of the party by imposing themselves on the National Assembly as leaders contrary to the position of the party. Where was the party? “Where was the discipline when this happened? It would be difficult to calculate what lack of courage to assert the party supremacy cost APC over that period. “The consequences of the inaction of the party were unimaginable. We all saw the consequences on governance as the National assembly practically held our government to ransom. “The impunity, which President Muhammadu Buhari has rightly described as lack of patriotism, constituted an unfortunate hindrance to the smooth running of government. “The leadership under Chief Oyegun, with due respect to him, condoned all sorts of acts of indiscipline from certain . It is not surprising that the current National Working Committee inherited such a huge mess, where the party was struggling to differentiate itself from the delinquent PDP. True talk. Oyegun is shameless ,and still pained that he was booted for Oshiomole to come clear the mess he left behind in APC. And cleared the mess would be ,no matter how pained the Oyegun's of this world are. If not the indiscipline with which Oyegun 'nurtured' the party, why won't political tin gods with PDP mentality in APC sabotage the party for their selfish interests?

APC is damn RIGHT. Oyegun should shut his trap and allow Oshiomhole do what he knows best. Putting "CORRUPT FOOLS "where they belong. It's incumbent upon Oshiomhole to reform APC, and that's exactly what he is doing, at the same time trying to clear all the mess Oyegun left behind. There is too much at stake and i trust oshiomhole to successfully defend his seat.

Chai, Oyegun has suffered. I wonder how is children would view him looking at how they have exposed his unclothedness like a peeled banana. The truth is that Oyegun was collecting money from a lot of party bigwigs and that's why the bearded coward couldn't correct them when the occasion demanded. In fact, he was surreptitiously working for Saraki against Buhari. With Oyegun as Apc chairman, Buhari would have lost that election. Did you guys notice that when Oyegun was Chairman, people were decamping out of APC but once Oshiomhole came in, everything stopped. 24 Likes 1 Share |

Oyegun is bitter and jealous of Oshomole. Osho baba is what APC needs to clip the wings of eccentric PDP. Oyegun was a mumu dummy chairman.

Idiots, they should compare the number of seats won by Oyegun led opposition party in 2015, and Oshiomhole incumbency led APC in 2019 for them to understand who did well, trust me, APC will at the least lose 2 more Governorship seats and several others before the end of this year.

why are APC behaving like a bit*h,are this they kind of idi*ots we entrusted our country on,little wonder why everything seems to be falling apart in Nigeria, from economy to education, security to health sector, incompetency is now our new way of life. Party that behaves like an over fed kid that has messed up his pampers. The problem with oshiomole,he talks before he thinks,he lacks the wisdom of a leader and thinks leadership is about confrontation,he will be discarded sooner than later,he created the Zamfara APC show of shame, permitted the impunity that brought about Ambode loosing the second tenure despite having several times been tagged the best performing governor by the president and majority of Lagosians. If he is not having problem with federal ministers,he is busy insulting one Rochas Okorocha or using gutter language on opposition party . He stinks with problems and infects the party with it. If only EFCC works for the Nigerian people, the national clown should have been behind bars long ago. 6 Likes 1 Share |

They are both right, Oyegun was unable to rein in crooks like Saraki and Dogara but Oshiomole is really killing the party with his Agbero style. You have to be a tough leader while showing decorum and statesmanship.
