Hello guys, i need clarification on this issue. Can a third party submit port pursuant to a port request in an online application? A response is highly appreciated. Thanks

Of cos you can use the document in your husband's name since you are self employed you will tick business then also your business papers. I used my cac paper

Hi Pointednose, in a nut shell, you can not qualify for a visa with another person’s ties. Unlike the US. USA process, every Canadian visa applicant is judged individually, including minors.
The focus here should be on you and your ties primarily. Not to sound mean, but people leave their spouses or even agree with their spouses when they land to seek asylum and likes. Focus on making the VO understand the visit is temporary. That’s it

Please i need your help. I am a little worried. I submitted my port at Lagos office on 17/05. Up till date, No nofication and status is still showing submission of port. This is 10 days out if 30 days given. I tried checking the staus online with the transaction code given when i paid at the vfs centre. It shows NO RECORD FOUND. Please advise me.

You probably are not entering those details properly.

Meanwhile, worry no more about that 30 days stuff since you have submitted your port already. You can monitor your port status to some extent via your GCKEY (profile).

That doesn’t sound good though. Will advise you do VFS a mail, or chat them up online, or better still show up in that office again to check this situation out.... I won’t underrate your assumption per our naija sister!

You can book an appointment for free on VFS site

I went to VFS last Friday and I was told the port is still with the embassy, if I track it on VFS site , it shows me no record, I will send Lagos immigration an email today asking them why the delay, last Friday made it 2 weeks since i submitted the port.

I was there this morning and behold, the guy said i should come tomorrow for the pick up of my port and immediately i checked ny online , application approved, visa details expiring in 5 yrs time updated.

I submitted May 3rd! Still nothing. I go to VFS everyday, I’ve sent emails to the embassy with NO RESPONSE! I’m TIRED!

At this point I just want my port back because I don’t understand why they are holding on to my port to get just an ordinary stamp! I’ve checked various forums and people who submitted after me have received their ports. If my port is missing then maybe they should let me know and return it with a Canadian one! IM TIRED!

It’s easy to say cool down when your port is not being held for ransom. I had a business meeting in Dubai last weekend, that’s been postponed. It’s been over 3 weeks with everyone else who has submitted after me receiving theirs. Even on the student visa thread people who submitted last week have received theirs. So how am I expected to remain cool?

It’s frustrating. I have other visas to apply for, other trips to go for. It’s summer, i need to travel.

Count 45 days from May 3rd...... That's when you are likely to get a response.

Applied April 12th, biometrics same day because it's Paper application.

Processing time as of that application period was 35days.
