Yes. A psycho that has demonstrated strength already in killing people, lost a 2 handed grip on a gun to an ex soldier who had one hand on the nozzle of the gun.

Note that the psycho had 2 hands on the gun and was few inches away from the trigger.

The very last second of that scene, the psychos finger was already at the trigger. Watch again.

He was able to ram the bald guy because the bald doesn't want to open his eyes to see the creatures. So the bald guy didn't know he was going to be rammed that way and he landed awkwardly which made his unconsciousness take longer and gary killed him with scissors

If that's why, then I see no reason why the black dude should open his eye either cos he reach for the gun after killing the bald man. Its a plot hole no more no less
