Tragedy was averted, today, as an #Airpeace plane suffered a blowout while taxiing for takeoff at the Abuja airport. The incident allegedly happened, about 3 minutes after the plane started taxiing. God what happened to pre flight checks. Obviously wanted to takeoff at all cost! The more the plane is on the ground the more cost incurred. But I'd rather they pay attention to the details rather than sacrificing lives this New Year. Only God knows how many locations that plane has been to in the past 24 hours without proper check! And that's how parents, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, bread winners and friends would have lost their lives and loved ones due to d negligence of one person or cost saving measures of a firm (I believe the tyres must have been showing signs of old age but the company will want to 'manage' it for a while longer). Just imagine this happening at touch down. Seriously, the Nigerian air transport industry needs stricter regulations
