Sometimes it takes a week. Their response is terrible.

If it doesn't change after 3 business days, send a messsge to their Facebook page, they reply fast there. my status only changed after i informed them that it was received and signed for after tracking it.

Is it possible to get an IELTS score like this? Who has gotten maximum score and what did you do extra?

sunvick(m): 11:37pm On Aug 20, 2018
You are new to this thread I guess. Lots of folks here are smashing even more than that. What they did extra was extra preparations!!!

Many thanks for the insight

He might need to assess his B.Sc if his CRS score is not high enough. The 1yr PGD will only give him 90 points as a single against 128 for 2 or more certificates. Though he is going to get additional points for Canadian education.

With the recent wave of 6.5 in Writing I have been seeing, made me think it's not an easy feat. Thanks for the heads up

Please just asking on behalf of a doubting THOMAS. Does someone with a PGD in Canadian Uni need an assessment again Though the boy has a Nigerian BSc.

I told him he does not need an ECA for his PGD but he now switched to "I want to boost my points with BSc assessment". But me, I need that $230 he wants to waste.
His original #GMPC

Is the PGD (post grad degree) a Masters degree? If it is, evaluation of BSC is unnecessary
ozzy2: 2:23am On Aug 21, 2018
Hello all, please when filling an express entry application , for the most recent and current employment do i have to put an end date? Or i leave it blank since i am still working in the organisation?

While I understand her issue, it a bit challenging. At original poster; can she use her 1year NYSC? Is she young enough to get ITA-friendly CRS without maxing out the three-year experience? This is where solution lies, I suggest she drops this her teaching experience. It is painful though.

Thanks. Will give her this option as well.

Yes o! Very doable. My result was L 8.5, R 9, S 8 W7.5. first and only attempt. I had just 2 weeks to prepare for the exam and I prepped with ieltsliz only.

I think my years of monotonous drafting/reviewing hundreds of pages of documents/agreements daily finally counted for something other than my salary.

I am tempted to agree that it's like Nigerian ielts examiners deliberately mark Writing down (i.e 6.5) as many people on this forum also feel. Perhaps so that they can make more money from people re-writing.

In my ielts application, I indicated that I was writing for Australian immigration purposes. I needed all-round 8 to max out language score under Australian system. Alas! I got 7.5. Missing that elusive 0.5.

I was disheartened when I saw my ielts result, until someone encouraged me to explore Canada.

Moral of this epistle, over-achievable de worry am sef!

That's what I tought... 6.5 trend in writing is so demoralizing. But I think proper preparation is the main thing here.

Can you give us the tips you used for writing?

I am not sure I can everything cos it's been a whole year now. But I tried to apply ieltsliz's tips. My introduction was to paraphrase the topic and then I added a sentence that hinted about my view e.g "I tend to agree with this statement".

I then added 2 or 3 paragraph explaining why I agreed with the statement in the topic. In each paragraph, I stated a new reason/point and I gave an example to the point stated.

My conclusion was to reinforce that I agree based on the reasons I have stated in the paragraphs.

Beyond the structure of the essay, you should pay attention to your spellings, punctuation, tenses, vocabulary, word count etc. Personally, I am a big fan of KISS (keep it short and simple). Use simple English, no need for big-big grammar especially if you are not completely certain about the literal and contextual meaning of a word. Plus pray and believe for the best.

I hope these tips help.

Wow wow wow (ambulance style) grin. You just gave the perfect reply brother.

Truly your years of experience counted for you in the writing.

I also think that they are just making Nigerians down so they can remark.
But now I know it's doable.
Thank you for your detailed response

It's really happening. In my bank, over 50 contract staffs with some years experience in the bank were converted to full staffs. I don't know if it's because of the mass Exodus of the experienced hands, but I don't see a bright future for Nigeria. All the immigration programmes are taking away our best hands. The future is bleak for Nigeria.

May God save us all
