If you live in Lagos especially in a place like Iyana Oworo, Ebute Metta that are closer to the Lagoon, you will understand Water Hyacinth and Debris means on the water. The Lagos State Government recently purchased a state of the art machine which removes debris and water hyacinth from the Lagos. Before the procurement of this machine, the Lagos state government have to employ the fishermen to remove the debris manually but the purchase of this equipment, it will make the work faster, easier and save more costs.

if lagosian lagoon dwellers start goose poultry business there won't be enough hyacinth within a short time.millions of geese.
advanced countries do not have poverty problem,protein problem,unemployment problem or corruption and lack of maitenance culture problem

It was procured last year, recalled watching it on TVC's programme, inside Lagos.

It should be feedstock for biodigesters which should be installed in fishing communities to power kilns for fish smoking reducing dependency on firewood and charcoal.

Procuring is one thing, maintaining it is another!

Do you know the amount of hyacinth we are talking about ?
What about the logistics of moving the birds from one place to another? Did you bother to think about the maintenance cost of keeping alive live birds?
