A gallant police officer, Ezekiel Peter has been killed after being attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Benue state. According to his colleague, corporal Umar AK Abdoullahe, the slain policeman was based in Abuja before he was deployed to Benue to the increasing violence in the region.

It was gathered that the suspected herdsmen had attacked and set many houses and farm produce ablaze in a community, before being confronted by the Police drafted to maintain peace and security in the community.

So this is how this country is going to continue.. Killinhs upon killing for political gains. During obj it was religious killings and sharia. During yaradua it was militants during jona na boko haram and now it's Fulani herdsmen. Yes I knw the present govt contributed to this killings but now it has gone out of hands. The politicans have hijacked the situation. Am sure whn the next govt come in its gonna be something else. This

Hmmm. Benue is known as the food basket of the nation. Fulani herdsmen have been attacking and killing farmers,setting farms and farm produce ablaze and nothing has been done to arrest this situation. The same scenario is playing out in plateau, Adamawa,taraba and other places. The dangers ahead are numerous but chief amongst them, is the fact that sooner or later when farmers can no longer farm and their fields are being set ablaze and their crops are destroyed, Nigeria would end up with serious food shortage that would lead to famine. The earlier we get that useless good for nothing cow out of aso rock,the better for us. This whole thing is gradually spreading down to the south and the west and if not quickly contained or nipped in the bud,we'd have ourselves to blame.
