Is Tinubu More Powerful Than OBJ In The South West?

Who is boss between tinubu and obasanjo because some people have been saying tinubu can deliver 80 / 90% for buhari..so I'm asking yorubas and others... Who is the most powerful man in the south as a whole sef..isn't it obj?


With the objection of obj to buhari's policies now I believe buhari can only have 35% in the south west.. Never underestimate obj like seriously. Forget tinubu.. Obj can frustrate tinubu and buhari at the same time.

In 2011, Tinubu gave Amosun the ticket to contest under his ACN against much opposition from other Ogun state based ACN stalwarts like Osoba dem. Olurin (OBJ's anointed candidate in that election) lost woefully to Amosun in that election that proved once and for all that OBJ is no more than a featherweight politician in his own backyard.

Definitely you are a rookie, all the candidates PDP/opposition have been cloning/putting forward were Tinubu boys, coupled with the massive Nigeria state money recklessly spent to buy votes by all means. FYI obanikoro has gone back to his grandmaster.

Tinubu is more powerful as he has a more formidable political machinery in the SW. But Yoruba are a different kind of voters as they don't vote just based on direction by political heavyweights.

If its about politics, its Tinubu for sure but if its about respect in Africa its Baba OBJ.

Well, I think his daughter once criticized him in an open letter about that as well (after he penned a similar letter to GEJ). As far as politics in the SW is concerned, he is a featherweight. The only times he's wielded any semblance of political influence was via 'Federal might' while he was president. In '99 he lost his Ward to Falae, and had to engage in subterfuge in order to get the AD governors to lose their guards and his reelection ambition before he could win Ogun state/SW. He should form his own opposition party, create a formidable machinery in the SW region that can win governorship elections in the SW states, and also use that same opposition party platform to forge a coalition formidable enough to unseat an incumbent. Until he can achieve such feats, he will remain a pretender.

Obasanjo has influence in the north and respected internationally. He is very strategic but couldn't match Tiunbu political influence in the south west.

I'm from the south east but I'd say tinubu is stronger than obj in the southwest considering the fact that all tinubu's boys are everywhere both federal level and southwest level, and considering the fact that his highest political office was just as a governor, his wife is still a serving senator, while obj's daughter lost same senatorial seat, meanwhile obj na ex presido, imagine if tinubu were to be an ex president, obj for still be learner for southwest politics

Tinubu is one over rated politician. His influence in the south west does not even cover the entire region? Observers of south west politics know that Ondo and Ekiti states are really out of his catchment.

OBJ on the other hand is a political force to reckon with in the nation and the continent.

Comparatively, OBJ is the boss of bosses.
