rodeo0070:Stanbic IBTC has assets in excess of 1trillion and not 1 billion. 1 billion is not even anyway near the capital requirements to operate a commercial bank in Nigeria. 5 Likes |

Franco93:Where do y'all even get all these mumu stories from? This isn't the first time I'm seeing this mumu story. Shina Peters never built any 20-million naira house in 1990. Do you even have any idea how much 20 million naira was in 1990 (with inflation adjustment). How much was Shina Peters worth in 1990 that he'd build a house of 20 million naira ![]() The principle is clear but the story was made up. 10 Likes 1 Share |

You guys forget that Banks add loans as one of her asset. Who knows what percentage of the asset is covered by loans. Meanwhile I am more interested in Banks Liquidity ratio, so when trouble starts, I know who has the ability to manage it quickly. Some of those asset would be sold at a reduced sum if liquidated in times of need 3 Likes |

The OP gave a grossly innacurate information. And comments are hence wrong based on the OP feeding them wrong data. How will a commercial banks asset be 1 Billion. Even MFBs have more than that. Dang even some MFIs and mine lenders have more than that in total assets. Rubbish info being spread around |

I use both banks and GTB and it is only first bank I have found frustrating. Excellent services by all of them but for the theft and fraud being committed by first bank. Why would I be charged for card maintenance fee when there are months I don't even transact with the . Obviously, they are loosing more customers. @ firstbank, If any of your team is viewing this thread, pls do something about that. Why would an be debited monthly for several charges even as there was no transaction on/with the that month.

There are many ways to calculate 'largest', 'biggest' bank. Largest by branch network (First Bank) Largest by net assets (Zenith?) Largest by stock market valuation (GTB) When financial experts (CNN Money, Bloomberg etc) talk of the 'biggest' bank in Nigeria, they say GTB. That's because it is the most valuable bank in the country. Despite having much fewer branches than First Bank, Zenith, UBA and probably Access, GTB makes more profit than any bank in Nigeria. Very impressive. 5 Likes |

I opened an in July. My deposit must have been the sum that made Zenith number 1. I know some people will say I'm lying but I won't argue. |
