Oga, pakweh!

Buhari referred to the section of the Constitution that defined Osinbajo's role and status, in his letter.

Any fool can go to the court to waste his money. it's not an issue.

I agree with this

To waste his money, and buy time.

I don't understand your argument. So, if someone goes to court today against the acting president, will the legal action stop Osinbajo from acting?

We should stop over flogging a non issue. Buhari had complied with section 145 of the constitution and that is what really matters. All other grammar after the first paragraph of the letter are irrelevant turanshi.

You guys don't understand the point Mao Ohuabunwa was trying to make and I am with him on this. The letter is ambiguous and open to various interpretation.

Yes, we all know what the constitution says and in view of that, Osinbajo is the acting president. But look at it from this perspective: He may give an order or sign a law or budget and someone somewhere will go to court challenging him on the signed law insisting that he was not the acting president and lacked powers to sign such all in a bid to buy time. Please note that the person challenging this knows the outcome already but would want to buy time. He will seek interpretation from the lower courts, then appeal the judgement, and later head to the supreme courts with various court injunctions inbetween and before you say jack, 2 years has elapsed and the culprit is still free because while he is at the courts, all actions will be pending awaiting the court verdict.

This is the lacuna Mao is trying to bring to light. After Osinbajo signs the budget, someone somewhere will spend above the budget next year or next 2 years and when EFCC wades in, he will go to court to say buy time, hinging his case on this same thing.

Do not forget that Ngozi Okonnjo Iweala was coordinating Minister under GEJ and we know theirs no powers attached to such portfolio.

The letter could have been innocently scripted, otherwise, it could have been crafted by some mischievous powers surrounding the presidency. Mao is not ignorant of what section 145 says so he knows exactly what he is saying; we call him "Ancient Mao" in Abia North and we have a saying that what an elder sees while sitting down, the youths will not see even if they climb the iroko.

Read the constitution and stop exposing your self.

What nonsense lacuna ?

Does the constition empower Buhari to even name who will act ?

Read first before you reply.

I think omokri should know better, Buhari is not Nigeria, but a Nigerian. Buhari and his cohorts only implicated themselves that truly they are hungry for power if the letter was intentional,...constitution overrides Buhari's foolishness. Omokri has forgotten that it was Nigerians that forcefully installed his principal - Jonathan as acting president when apparently some powerful northerners did not give him a mere reference in the scheme of governance.

People keep making a mountain out of a mole hole. I see nothing wrong with the new title.

It is people like you that are the problem of this country. The president on its own has no powers. Its powers come from the constitution. Which is the collective will of the people. In the event of him vacating the office due to temporary illness. The constitution itself has spelt out measure to be taken not the president.

That's is, it is not a matter of what the president say he is, rather what the constitution says on this matter.
Coordinator, were does that thing come from. If the president is not acting, the vice takes its place. That's the reason he is vice.

To me all this reek of collective ignorance. I.e to ignore the constitution.

Nigerians are funny people walahi. We make a case out of everything.

After seeing the section of the constitution the President quoted in his letter, do we still need to stress the coordinator part?

We have more pressing issues than this. For example, why has it taken the prestigious National assembly this long to the 2017 budget. The President dropped the stuff with them since last year.

Why are the Biafrans celebrating their own independence day on the 22nd of May and why is it going to last 7 days? Are they not supposed to do that on their soil alone? Why are they extending it to the rest of the country? Are they not going to cause public disturbance or disrupt the activities of the peaceful Nigerians? grin

These are questions that needs better attention that the President's letter.

Have a good day guys.

Modified: I have noticed that each time i post harmlessly. I certain mod deletes it. I want to know the rule i have broken that made you delete my post on no 25 of this thread. I see no rule broken with exactly this post. Same thing happened when i posted yesterday and there was God, Christian and Muslim in the composition.

You are the one that failed to read or digest my point; maybe because you have comprehension issues.
Read my 2nd paragraph again...carefully this time, especially where I said that we all know what the constitution says. You have zero idea what some mischievous people can make out of that letter which is open to different interpretations.

Its difficult trying to make a point these days; everyone is clouded in the veil of either religion of tribalism.

I av told you the letter only need the President to say I am on vacation and cnt discharge my duties.

Any other thing there is not relevant.

Read my submission and the constitution again.
