Naptu ever thought to write a book about Nigeria. Her people her music, her food, her history and her culture. That will be a book worth reading

It would be lovely if you can, you bring out wonderful memories that am sharing with my children.
when I think about something in the past and I wonder in my mind if naptu2 will write about it, its always a delight to see you write about it.
Good work sir.

Bro, I saw your earlier post, but your question took me on a journey that was sometimes frustrating. I'll tell you what happened.

I recognised the lyrics as soon as I saw your question (I knew that I had heard the song), but I couldn't the melody. It was so frustrating! I kept searching my mind, trying to where I had heard those words.

Then I ed the melody yesterday night and it occurred to me that the song has been done more than once. There's a 1970s version and a 1990s version, but I couldn't the name of the song or who sang it. I wasted a lot of time because I wrongly believed that the 1970s version was done by Ofege.

Now I've found the '70s version. I'm hoping that someone will hear this and the name of the person that covered it in the '90s.

I am about 86% sure it's Zubby Enebeli

He had a guitar in the video, with a babe standing by him. He also covered Rex Lawson's Love mu Adure.

Does anybody know the name of this song? Attached below this post is a link that will prompt you to a voicenote of me playing the tune on my keyboard. I've played it without any accompaniment or chords, so that it'll be easier to figure out the tune I'm talking about.

Please help if you can.

naptu2:

That's the song. Although Nelly Uchendu's version was slower, but that's the tune. Thanks very much.
Do you know the name of the person that sang this hausa song (check the attachment below).

Is this the song?

So no one here can tell what happened to Funmi Adams?

How can such a music icon just fizzle out like that, like a candle light?

You just took me on an amazing musical journey in less than 5 minutes.

I a bit of the chorus of that song. At first I thought that it was Majek's Free Mandela, but it didn't rhyme with the chorus in my head.

The voice in the chorus in my head sounded like Sunny Okosun, but it's not Sunny Okosun.

Then I ed that you said that he also sang an igbo song. So I tried to igbo reggae songs. Aha! I'm 95% sure that it's Chris Hannen that sang the Free Nelson Mandela song and that the igbo song that you ed is Ozigi Zaga.

Do you mean Fantastic Man or Atomic Bomb?

naptu2:

That's not it. The song I'm referring to was done in the '70s. It's a James Brown type funk song.

It's not the same song, but it's the same artist. Baby Kilode was more popular and I think it was released before Ambushing.
