Though, not in of the proposed emergency powers for the President, it'll definitely lead to abuse of separation of power. But why is this istration always confused? They're always denying what is already published in the dailies. 14 Likes 1 Share |

it should be approved for only one year. They should clearly state in the bill this law expires by mid night 31st December 2017. 5 Likes 1 Share |

even with all the presidential powers he has the economy is almost dead and he is still seeking for more powers. Give Buhari all the powers and he'll only mess things up the more. Ignorance and stubborness is a very deadly combination.

We can't trust PMB with more power especially when such power becomes absolute. What does he want to achieve now that he couldn't with his presidential power? He hasn't been faithful with the power he presently has as president why should we give him more. Emergency power means he can sell Nigeria if he so wish or appoint has Ministers 100% from katstina state if he likes, removes CBN Governor with executive order, or mobilise contractors 100% if he so wish. Absolute power corrupt absolutely. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Did Obama of America , Hollande of of seek such power when they were elected in the middle of recession? If you can't savage the economy with friendly economic policies, stop asking for more power to arrest Dog namers. Bubu is super lazy, without any interference, he couldn't choose his cabinet till after 6 months, it goes a long way to tell you he's not fit to be a president. #childishPresident 27 Likes 3 Shares |

Better to seek and obtain such powers to tackle the challenges. At the end of the day, it's the wailers that will still blame you for not proffering solutions to the problems. You have less than three years to find solutions by whatever means necessary. Leave wailers alone because nothing you do will please them. 4 Likes |

So they want to modify our democracy. Excessive power to a former Dictator may not mean well. The problem we have is inadequate money in circulation and spiraling inflation. Is that the problem of one set of laws?

Forget about the denial, the presidency is testing shallow waters to differentiate them from ocean. President Buhari meant everything you read on the rumour mill published by the Nation news media. It is obvious the inexperienced born-again democrat cannot function well in a Democracy without injecting some elements of dictatorship into the system. Ask yourselves these questions, are there bills the presidency forwarded to NASS on Economic Recovery that were even delayed let alone rejected? Did he address Nigerians on what he intend doing which require constitutional changes? The only thing this istration knows best is shifting blames and responsibilities and this time, the presidency entails laying the blame on the National Assembly as usual. Let's stop this bullshit and tell the President resounding capital NO to dictatorship. The separation of powers is the foundation of democracy as enshrined in our constitution and the power of the purse lies with the NASS. 14 Likes 1 Share |

You don't give sweeping power of any kind to a man.. Yes Buhari is a man and giving him that power is a suicide mission for our country's democracy. After giving him sweeping economic power, he will seek for sweeping security power to fight insecurity and when that happens, then it's safe to say bye bye to our democracy.. That's how tyrant rulars start.. Buhari must abide by our extant laws in all his dealings, if he can't do that, then he should step aside. We say a capital NO to any kind of power alien to our constitution!!! ![]() 4 Likes 2 Shares |

The beauty of democracy is in the relationship the 3 arms of government have in delivering progress. Buhari has proven over time that he cannot work with anyone. Federal ministers have been reduced to messengers Police is now like private army And now, the Legislature is about to be done away with The best path any democratic leader should take is to present a bill to the Legislature to amend, for instance, the procurement bill and lobby them for faster age NOT looking for powers to set the bill aside. US government has full time lobbyists to work with the Legislature and push any executive policy through, Buhari and El rufai just think they know the best and everyone else are zombies 4 Likes 1 Share |
