Even if you want to renew it, immigration won't because is still very far.. If you are starting school by spring 2017 it means you should have traveled latest by January 2017. That's like 10 months to the expiration of your port. POE will only frown if it is less than 6 months.

You need not worry, you can renew your port in the US when is about one month to expire.

TRANSFER TO A SCHOOL WHERE YOU HAVE YOUR RELATIVES...YOU CANT ABANDON THE SCHOOL U USE THEIR SEVIS ID IN SECURING A VISA. YOU CAN ONLY DO THAT IF AND ONLY IF U WANT YOURSELF BACK IN NIGERIA.

No you ended up falling out of status and be there illegally. .....

On a student visa you are ONLY allowed to work on campus so if your relatives are in a different state that would means you dont have the right paperwork to work where your relatives are . ... or transfer to a school there

Also make sure you do the right thing and stay in status, the headache to correct it later on (if at all possible ) , you dont even want to know so dont let anyone advice you wrongly

You can only renew your port maximum of 6 months to the expiring date..

So take chill pie first until then.
