A very welcome development though.I have some questions is't the president the only one having the power to order deployment and withdrawal of troops?is the Acting president having the constitutional power to control the Arm forces?and is the acting president authomatically the commader in chief?somebody to educate us is much needed.Thanks.

orimsamsam: Prof Osibanjo is not commander in Chief nor the president. He would not unilaterally make such decision with the consent of the President. In as much is welcome development, there is no responsible government that will give up her sovereignty with out putting up a fight. |

It's unfortunate that our economy was hurt to remind us of the futility in voting in ex military men as civilian leaders. It took just a day with a civilian minded acting President for a liberal decision to be made. Don't get me wrong, I'm a forceman myself but most times we think with our guns first before thinking with our brains. It's not abnormal though. Nice one Osinbajo. 4 Likes |

Another perspective, and questions for niger deltans. For the records, am a full-fledged niger deltan from warri north lga. As its commonplace currently, we make haste to blame the federal government for the under development in our region. To be honest, thats true, but not entirely. To a small extent, the federal govt has been fair to our plight. Consider this : how much has been the contribution of NDDC and d ministry of niger delta affairs (MNDA)? What can we show for the 13% derivation given to our region? Which senatorial constituency projects can u point to in ur area?In delta state, we have DESOPADEC, how much have they affected the lives of the common man in of infrastructural devt? The govt put these measures in place so that the region cud benefit, but the greedy,,so - called leaders of the niger delta have squandered the common wealth of the region, and then provide arms for the misguided youths to keep disturbing the govt so the can keep enriching their pockets. Charity they say , begins at home. Lets hold our leaders to their throats, and make sure they carry out the projects allocated to the region, bfor we go all out to fight the govt.

Do you guys think Osibanjo will make such a decision without President Buhari's permission? Common sense will tell you they all thought military would have been the solution but it back fired now they using plan B (dialog). Buhari already made this plans... he travelled just to act as if the decision was taking in his absence... make them no see am as a weak fella. Gragra no they pay anymore. Sometimes id good to take a chill pill before making a decision that will affect live of many.

Firefire: Osinbajo is supposed to be a modern president more than conservative Buhari who doesn't hear word. Osinbajo should use the powers in his office as Acting President to start work on RESTORATION OF REGIONAL GOVERNMENT SYSTEM with some degree of FISCAL FEDERALISM to Nigeria. It's not enough to bribe militants now and tomorrow another set of militants grow to blow up oil installations. Solve this problem once and for all. Niger delta area is supposed to have been more developed than Dubai today if we are sincere to ourselves in Nigeria. 4 Likes |

A distant northerner should not have sole ownership or control over it..even if the mass should enjoy it, since its from our land i see no reason why we shouldnt control it. There wont be any amnesty,..no no no its either we take countrol of our God giving resource or we liberate. Were are d zombies of d@t dullard saying millitant do nt need negutiations 1 Like |
