They are making steps. Coach Amunike just finished his refresher course. Coach Salisu Yusuf just came back from Hearts carrying out an understudy of the Heart's coach system. He will soon go on an understudy of Guardiola at the Etihad campus.

I see others springing up. I just hope the NFF give them the necessary to grow.

terzurum5:

I am compelled to trust our local Coaches because of my firm believe in the Nigerian project, but at the other end am made not to trust them. Am looking for one to prove me wrong.

TheSuperNerd(m): 12:48pm On May 17, 2016
Sir GoodJoe is right on some steps being taken by some of our best and brightest rising local coaches to upgrade from time to time.

Coach Amunike already has his UEFA pro licence (highest in the world), gotten alongside Luis Enrique and pep guardiola in Spain.

Recently, he just completed his CAF A licence course... another phase will come for more coaches in June or so I think.

In Imama Amapakabo, Kennedy Boboye and Paul Aigbogun, I think Nigeria has another generation of top young tacticians rising.

Don't forget Maikaba and of course Salisu Yusuf himself.

Like Sir TheGoodJoe said, Salisu recently finished a coaching understudy attachment with Hearts fc of Scotland and was to undergo same at Man City with Pellegrini but because of the CAF A licence he had to reschedule.

Now with the CAF A licence bagged, he will head to Man City under The Elite Pep Guardiola.... how interesting.. wink

Also, the LMC and NFF are trying to create a benchmark for Coaches' eligibility in the top flight.

For instance, if one don't have a CAF B licence (I think?) as minimum requirement, you won't be allowed to handle an NPFL side.

Similar things apply to the EPL and UCL. Without a UEFA PRO licence, or its second-in-rank, UEFA A licence, you won't be allowed to coach in the UEFA Champions League.....

Hopefully, all goes well for our local coaches' rebranding and knowledge upgrade going forward....

Iheanacho is ready to improve his game for Guardiola’s coming
[/size]

Kelechi Iheanacho believes the imminent arrival of Pep Guardiola to Manchester City will make him a better footballer.

Iheanacho proved to be a revelation in the just-concluded season, scoring in the first half as the Citizens drew 1-1 with Swansea City in their final game of the 2015/16 Barclays English Premier League season on Sunday.

His goal proved vital as it sealed City’s place in the qualifiers for next season’s Uefa Champions League and Pellegrini was quick to salute the accomplishments of the youngster.

Iheanacho has now voiced his sentiments about the arrival of Guardiola, who has previously managed FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich with distinction.

“There is a great manager coming in and you have to be happy about that.

“We (Manchester City stars) will work with him and he will be choosing the players he wants to work with next season so it’s a case of working hard and seeing what happens. Naijabet.com

“Pep is a great manager who has coached some big teams in Europe and won a lot of trophies. I think he will do the same for us as well.

“I hope to help take me to the next level and we can all win many trophies,” Iheancho told reporters.

Meanwhile, former Manchester City manager, Pellegrini believes Nigerian striker, Iheanacho has a brilliant future in the game.

“I think he demonstrated how important he [Iheanacho] is,” Pellegrini said. “He is a very good player but he also must improve a lot.

“But a player of 19 years old who scores so many goals and not playing all the games, I think has a brilliant future. I think all the fans of City will be delighted with him in the next years.”

The respect between both individuals appears to be mutual as Iheanacho was quick to salute the exploits of the Chilean manager.

“He is a special manager for me and has done great things in my life – he brought me into the first team, introducing me to work with the squad right from pre-season last year.

“I am happy for him, for everything he achieved with this team, and happy that he made me a part of it.

“I won’t forget him, no matter where he goes.

“I am not quite happy that he is going, but this is the football world and anything can happen. I just wish him good luck wherever he goes and will be praying for him and hope to see the future.

“He is popular with the players – he makes people happy when they work with him because he likes to play football.

“I have been playing and scoring goals this season, so it has been a huge difference to what happened to me last season.

“But next season I hope to be much better, and score more goals to help the team succeed in all the competitions,” Iheanacho submitted.

Iheanacho scored 14 goals in all competitions for City this season.

grin grin Funny thing is no English fan ed "Hybe" when the 26-man list for England was released. wink

Don't get me wrong, Jordan is a good player but not a spectacular talent. But who knows? He may yet surprise.... wink

At the moment though, even Sheyi Ojo trumps him at Liverpool in of potentials and more.

Those English fans are really funny... they left Hybe, and others and went as super far as Nacho.... Hahahahahaha.

Hodgson go be like, "Well, only if he was English..... He would have made my final list no doubt" wink

Funny English fans.... #smiles

I laugh...
I'm simply laughing @ our local coaches, technical crew n d biggest culprit d NFF'9'

Is it not d same boy that went to Newzealand who was kicked to d bench after his first game? was it not d same lad that sat on the bench for d whole 90min in Alexandria? Was it not d same lad that wasn't given a chance in Oliseh's squad prior to d clamour for his inclusion in d die minute?

Oh No! Even the whites see a gr8 potential in him that made them to wrongly call for his inclusion in Roy's Euro'16 bound team... They see him to be an unsung hero ...

Oh my dear country!
If it were to be Nigeria coaches, the likes of rashford, Alli, barkley won't make d list. They will come out with excuses like 'they are too small, they lack experience, exposure and what it takes to play in a continental tournament and so on.'
and this is why I'll always clamour for a foreign Grade A coach to handle our National team till the time we can produce a world class indigenous one.
I REST MY CASE.

This is the argument made to justify the continuous inclusion of Efe Ambrose and Oboabana when they were not playing games.

Another excuse is that they are the ones that fit the strategy of the coach, as if they are the only players in Nigeria capable of fitting into the manager's plans.

Of course they do know..... wink

They are just acknowledging Nacho's precocious talents.

Also, they feel since Rashford made that squad for Euro 2016 then if Nacho was English, he too will certainly make it and even bench some main stays in the team... hahahahahaha.

Their premise is this..... "Iheanacho was the the best teenage forward sensation in England for the 2015/2016 season based on stats and performances."

They kinda envy Nigeria somewhat... wink

Where should Siasia play the following players:-

Wilfred Ndidi:- Originally a CB. He's had a great season with Genk playing as a defensive Midfielder. Even scored a couple of Screamers and provided some assists. He was one of Genk's key players starting almost all their matches. Should he be used in Midfield just like at Genk or his original position which is CB?

Isaac Success:- Granada's player of the season has had a fantastic season tormenting LA liga full backs with his pace and trickery. Originally a CF but now transformed completely into a winger. He was even used more in Right/Left Midfield in a 442. His performance on d wings this seaaon have attracted top clubs like Valencia, A.Madrid and Watford. Should he be used on the wings or his initial position which is CF?
Note:- Success' finishing is now a shadow of his U17 days. He's now a poor finisher. Missed a lot of sitters this season

Kelechi Iheanacho:- A debut season not many predicted. 14 goals and 5 assists in just 11starts for Manchester City playing as a CF. Originally a very creative SS/CAM from his U17 days. So where should he be used? CF, SS, RWF,LWF or CAM?

Chidozie Awaziem:- Another Nigerian teenager that had a break-out season. 19yrs old Chidozie has been a revelation for Porto in d 2nd half of the season and now a regular starter in Central defence for Porto. Originally a Defensive Midfielder. He's very fast for a defender, tough-tackling, good vision and also a very good er.
He's light weight though and could easily be bullied by huge CFs. Where should he be used? . In Central defence or in Midfield?

I believe it is better they play the position they play in their clubs because they train week in week out in that role. Changing their club positions will mean losing some of the valuable lessons they learnt.

The only person I think Coach Siasia should change his role is Success. He still got the instincts to finish.

The coach should do all he can to go with his precocious talents, switch position according to the teams needs, their versatility will make sure their is more than one back up for some positions
I think some of them have metamorphosized completely and might not be that good in their former positions but are assets in their new positions like iheanacho and Success,
I believe Ndidi might have a better shot at CB with Ekong awaziem oduduwa than against Mikel or Azubuike as defensive mildfielder , but I might be wrong you can't be entirely sure.

Gr8 analytical report!
Well done Sir.
But I don't really have a problem with these players' abilities to play in a multiple position(change/deploy or converted)

what keep scaring me is Siasia team Selection. If the above mention players can make the final squad list. It will be of
advantage to us, because these boys(SUCCESS, AWAZIEM, NDIDI, NACHO et al.) are still young and haven't lost the touch of their previous position they played in.

One more thing is that, having them to play or start a game together will be gr8 to watch as they will simply cause confusion to the opponents as it will be easy for them to swap position most especially Nacho, success, s. moses n Iwobi's abilities to play in more than one position will give our opponent's defence a good run for their money.

I simply hope Siasia will get t right one more time.

Maybe he has so much confidence in his abilities. I did watch him several times when he was on loan with Rangers. He was good tho. u never can tell. He might sneak in.

Comodo, that team is loaded

Not denying he is good I actually like him

But he plays as a winger in a team that might likely have Sheyi Ojo, Moses Simon and an overaged player ( MAybe Musa maybe Moses). The homeboy Tonbara is there . . .

Think it would be wiser he signed a new deal with spurs
