Iya Osun Religion is the Religion of Jezebel Witchcraft

They don't hide it the declare it publicly they even refer to their mothers as the Witches

It is part of their Public declarations when they go to worship at the Osun River

Now you don't need to be told that Jezebel and God Almighty are Arch enemies

Worship of deities predates the arrival of Christianity and the bible in Nigeria. How then will the older Iya Osun's, perhaps from the early to mid 19th century, have known of Jezebel or even the Christian God?

Nigerians use ignorance and superstition to negatively translate things into what they are not. We saw this with Nollywood's period of obsession with making filma about witchcraft which still endures today.

Below is the translation of Iya Osun religion. Where is the for anything you claim here? In fact it was the white missionsaries, on a messianic quest to make everyone Christian, who insisted traditional worship was devil and pagan worship.

The irony is that it is same Oyinbos who demonized and tried to kill Ifa divination and our traditional worship who have been exposed to be ignorant today by their offsprings whose research-based approach has led them to realize Yoruba traditional worship is indeed beautiful, full of much wisdom and goodness in the majority.

So much so that it is UNESCO that has included the Ifa divination system, in 2008, in it's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

It is UNESCO also that talks of colonialism and the Religion it introduced discriminating against Ifa divination to the extent they tried to drown it with the assistance of ignorant Africans back then. Read about UNESCO's referenced for Ifa divination today , through the link below, while we, the owners, ignorantly revile and fear it.

https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/ifa-divination-system-00146

if our forefathers are ignorant, what is the excuse of us who are educated today ing the total loss, to history, of our traditional worship, that do no harm to others, because we now rate 'imported' Christianity higher?

They should be left alone. Practice your Christianity/Islam and let traditional worshippers be. It is religious intolerance between the two main religious of Christianity and Islam causing Nigeria and the world serious problems today.

Whereas the world would be better off adopting the Yoruba model where all Religions are tolerated without toxic and murderous rancour over superiority and the enforcement of one Religion over another.

Nowadays we don't even know the difference between osun, babalawo and pastor in sw nigeria

Listening to their sermon on radio will just be turning your head

All what you will hear is come and collect oil, bring water, bring soap, bring fish, bring candle, bring glass etc

Come to Ibadan and listen to epaphras, temitope eje Jesu, papa authority etc

So why won't iya osun be at home in a crusade, when the pastor is using osun tactics to do ise woli

Fact!

One woman I heard was introduced to babalawo when she went to pray Lori oke

Cos she was heavily in debt she was inpatient with the babalawo guidelines, after paying 40k, she now thought the babalawo scammed her and ran to a radio presenter to help retrieve the 40k

Is Christianity older than her naive religion in the SW? Why then do you demand she rejects her traditional worship for Christianity?

Why not the other way round as many are doing in Brazil, Cuba etal? Or is it that, for you, everything imported to Africa from overseas is better?

It is as Bob Marley sang. "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery.none but ourselves can free our minds".

Christianity - Jesus Christ, is the way to eternity, any other way leads to hell.

If osun predates Christianity, now that there's Christianity she supposed to drop osun a satanic voodoo religion and embrace light and Salvation.

Why don't you drop you Mobile phone or atmcard etc and be using the old things

osun that has been around since is losing not only to Christianity even to civilization

That's the real meaning of emancipation

Bless your heart. You are a thoughtful person.

(a) She was not there to repent, otherwise the church would have asked her to change her garment. The Lord working on her to that point would have impressed upon her to change her clothes.

(b) She was not there to demonstrate religious tolerance and harmony, otherwise many others from her clan and possibly other religious adherents would have been there.

(C) She was their to help the ministry.

A local yoruba movie was made in which a struggling pastor sought help from a witch doctor. The pastor was advised to hold a service in honor of the traditional ways. The witch doctor attended the service in his regalia.

After the church program, the pastor came to wealth but later regretted it.

Other possibilities:

(a) it was a skit.
(b) It may have been a movie.

Christmyhope:

Yes, Christians believe that the only way to God is only through Jesus Christ according to the gospel of grace. And it doesn't say Christians should go and kill those who refuse to accept our message of salvation. Our message is based on faith, tolerance, self control, perseverance, goodness and ultimately love just as Christ Jesus did. Gospel of Christ Jesus is the only way to escape the coming wrath upon the earth.

Jesus Christ is our only hope and his coming is nearer than ever.

In a surprising display of interfaith harmony, an Osun worshipper popularly known as "Iya Osun" was spotted dancing and singing with a pastor at a crusade held at Bisi Market in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Despite being fully dressed in her traditional Osun attire, Iya Osun seemed to be fully immersed in the praise and prayer session, showcasing a moment of unity and shared spirituality.

The event, themed "Weep not," was organized by Praise and Prayer Winners Global Ministry, and appears to have brought people together in a celebration of faith and worship.

This is called 'RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE' and we in the other religions should borrow a leaf from this.

Thanks.

The Yorubas level of religious tolerance should be a global study. They truly practice and are fully immersed in the “live and let live” mantra. Very peaceful people unless they get provoked and disrespected.

SporaD8:

Behold the beauty of religious tolerance in Yorubaland!

Fanatism, extremism and forced convertion has no root in here - Alhajis can be invited as a special guest during church harvest while pastors are welcome as guest speaker during "wahasi"

Only those who are insecure in their religious doctrines will feel threatened by a simple act of love and fellowship displayed by the woman!
Let's all live together in Harmony!

The bold is the problem. You see every other person not a Christian as not serving God. That's intolerance.

The traditionalist don't do violence for their faith and even better.

All the attributes (self control, tolerance etc) that you mentioned are the values that our forefathers upheld and preached on the basis of morals and NOT religion. They did this far before Christianity arrived. Those attributes don't belong or originated with Christians even though they preached it. Our forefathers practiced them long time ago.

The land that the churches are built were given to the Christians by our forefathers who are Olorisas. That's religion tolerance. Christians can't do that
Thanks my brother, you are saying the truth. I really appreciate our forefathers tolerance and self discipline in accommodating Christianity. The word "Christian" stems from the ways of life of Christ Jesus which was exhibited by the purveyor of the gospel of grace in the first century in a city called Antioch. This title was given by the people of the community because of the humility, love, endurance and peaceful manner through which the apostles propagated the message of truth. Christianity is a way of life of Christ Jesus which embodies tolerance, humility and ultimately love.
Whatever good one does in this life. If that goodness does not through channel of God's grace,it will be considered as null and void because humanity goodness is like a rag before God. It means that our efforts can not earn us being right with God because humanity as a whole is polluted with and by sin. But God's work cleans from sin and makes humanity right with him. And that God's work is Christ Jesus, the only of being right with God.
My brother, I love and respect your beliefs and that of our forefathers. But the fact is "no one can be right God" except through Christ Jesus.

If you don't accept my message. Let us live in peace and in love with one another.
Our message is through love not by sword.

No brother, we are never the same. Aggressiveness is not in our DNA and it can not be found in our great example which is Christ Jesus himself. Many traditionalists are in my domain,we talk and play together and no fight, although we disagree on some issues at times but it has never been to the point holding grudges and seeing them as enemies because they refuse to accept my message.

Come to think of it and be sincere in your answer...
Why will a Universal God(I use the word universe because we are not talking about the earth or our solar system alone) be so petty and factional as to call one set of people his chosen, only to create another set of people to be hated and hunted for sport like a Lab. Specimen?!
That can only be the imagination of a sadistic and divisive entity; not a universal, all-encoming Creator of all things whose greatest attribute is Love

Lol. We don hear you. I wonder what makes you think yourself different from or superior to the Islamic fundamentalism who says the same as you, shown in the bolded in your post, with the insistence "Infidels" who do not surrender to the "superiority" of Islam, as a religion, deserve death.

Live and let live. I don't know you but I view you a scary person and a fundamentalist 100%. Those who brought you Christianity are the same today studying and praising African traditional Religions and ethnographic culture their forefathers convinced you all to jettison in the past so as to accept Christianity as superior.

I have no issues with Christianity, Islam or any religion but what I am vehemently ionate about is tolerance for the religious faith and choices of others that is should be their free choice and full entitlement..

Otherwise the troubled world we have today, due to religious fundamentalism that preaches intolerance for the faith of others, will only worsen.

I disagree! The teaching of Christianity says the only way to serve God is by being a Christian. If you don't believe in Jesus, you are not serving God. Jesus is the only true way. That a lone is intolerance.

That is not the teaching of our forefathers. The Christianity preaches against other religions. Take for instance, God will perish those who do Orishas.

But our forefathers never has such beliefs against any religion. If you go to pastors to pray for you, Before God can answer your prayers, you must believe in Jesus and follow him. You must reject whatever religion you practice if not Christianity. That's according to the Christians.

If you want the help of Òrìṣà, you won't be ask to change your church or your faith . Nothing concern our traditions with the religion you belong to. That's tolerance!

Excellent and highly intelligent post.

Thanks 🙏
