And one stupid idiot will tell Nigerians the police man who shot the innocent boy cannot be identified from the video here?
It's pretty obvious the police force is trying to shield the crazy officer

Check all the retired policemen in this country and see how they are faring after retirement.
Check how their children turn out in life too.
There is a reason for that.

And the Father who's supposed to be a good role model to his son should be jailed also he failed the boy...

What happens to following the traffic laws what lesson his he teaching his son?
The father did not fail the boy. Because the father's plate number would have been used to trace him. Rather the police officer should be charged for murder

This is sad.
Was the police returning fire? Were they exchanging fire with IPOB/ESN? sorry, they can't use that line because it happened in ibadan.

Why on earth would a police on traffic control be armed?
Can these same set of police stand if a gang of armed robbers were to be ing by at that very moment?
It is actually an Insult to animals when Nigeria was upgraded to the status of a ZOO.

Why would the father even want to enact fast and furious with his kids in a clime as ours.

It’s quite unfortunate that the police shot the boy. If the driver of the vehicle had obeyed the traffic rule, this unfortunate incident would have been avoided.
seriously his father is the remote cause I'm ,sure even him he will be regretting violating traffic law.

And I'm 100% sure he will not go free ,both him and the police will be punished but the child won't come back

The shooting was just careless. It shows the low level of training our Police receive before being given guns. Shooting in that manner, in the midst of crowd and commotion could have hit anyone including by-standers and ersby.
No wonder there are lots of cases of stray-hits and unnecessary loss of lives. He just fired like a nuisance, even if you are chasing a bandit, you don't fire in the midst of people like that. That's is absolutely unprofessional and unjustified, I believe the Police Officer should be severely dealt with.

The Father Failed the Boy..

This is Nigeria where rule of Law isn't applicable and you know Police in this terrain are trigger happy...

The Police have 80 percent to be blamed but the father enabled it by 20 percent if he has patience and abstain from breaking the traffic rules this is avoidable...

So the Father failed the boy cause is supposed to be a good example to his son not driving like Danfo Driver on a busy road.

In the line of taking one way you know someone can also be killed through his actions so all this his supposed to teach his son and you said he didn't fail his son..

As a Father if you've your family in the Car is this how you will be putting there life at risk and also endangering other road s...

Police have an 80 percent blame while the father too is supposed to be blamed... So leave all doz Plate number talk this is Nigeria...

Rebuker:
A newly surfaced video has shed light on the tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, where a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot by police officers during an operation that was initially intended to apprehend his father for a traffic offense.

Earlier reports had suggested that the officers were chasing an alleged internet fraudster when a stray bullet struck the young student. However, the newly released footage contradicts this, showing that the incident actually involved a t task force consisting of personnel from the Oyo State Police Command and the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYTMA).

In the video, the officers are seen attempting to intercept a Black Honda Accord driven by Odunayo Alade, the boy’s father, who had reportedly flouted traffic regulations. As the car sped off in defiance of the officers' orders, a gunshot rings out. Voices speaking in Yoruba can be heard saying: “They should pursue him”, “let’s go”, “he can’t escape”, “he shouldn’t have gone.”

Shortly afterward, the vehicle halts and bystanders gather at the scene. The boy is spotted lying motionless on the ground, with police officers surrounding him. Two men lift the boy, seemingly trying to place him back into the vehicle. Blood is visibly staining the pavement nearby.

Amid the commotion, a voice from the crowd is heard asking: “Who fired the gun?” Meanwhile, a distressed man — believed to be the father — is seen gripping a police officer, apparently the one who fired the shot. He cries out in anguish: “Shoot me; you have to shoot me too.”

Later that day, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, issued a statement providing further details about the incident. According to him, the vehicle driven by Alade had violated traffic laws around 7:45 am near the Airport Roundabout in the Alakia axis of Ibadan. When officials attempted to stop him, he allegedly accelerated in defiance, colliding with two OYTMA vehicles and a Police Buffalo Patrol truck.

The statement continues: “Rather than complying with lawful directives, the driver allegedly accelerated towards the enforcement team in an attempt to evade arrest, ramming into two OYTMA vehicles and a Police Buffalo Patrol truck.”

To prevent additional danger to officers and other road s, barricades were set up to stop the fleeing vehicle. However, Alade reportedly broke through these barriers and continued driving in a reckless manner, posing risks to those around.

During this pursuit, a police corporal discharged his weapon. The bullet pierced the rear of the vehicle and struck the boy, who was seated behind the driver. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

The officer responsible for firing the shot has since been detained, and the authorities have launched an ongoing investigation into the matter.

Why did the driver not stop?

One of those avoidable deaths in Nigeria

How much of this should we continue to see on a daily basis before we learn.

If you are a parents imagine the pains the father should be going through now. We lost another bright chap. A bright leader of tomorrow.

What value do we place on human life?

I will blame the father the most, the only offence of that officer is unprofessional conduct by misfiring the tyres of the car. He used his stupidity to cut short the life of an innocent boy.

I was sentimental unti I saw the video of his reckless driving even when the police and FRSC mounted a barricades to stop him. He behave like kidnapper or arm robber who want to escape arrest in that video.

You can search for it on Facebook or any other Internet site.

No be all of them o, e no dey affect IG, DIGs, AIGs, commissioners
Karma mostly affects those that were wicked and mainly in the rank and file.

Most of those officers use these rank and file for the cruelty and go away Scot free most of the time

People just being reckless. The police officer is a foolish murderer.
Staccato001: 8:50am On May 22
This is so disheartening. The driver's thoughtlessness knowing he is carrying his children in same vehicle, led to this.

He could have just stopped, this is avoidable.

Nigerian police and other law enforcement agencies see criminals first before common sense and will shoot at slightest provocation. He shot at a vehicle in such long distance with hot chase on a busy road.

Of course, his colleagues are all chastising him of having shot at the vehicle. This is so unfortunate. May this little boy find rest in God's bosom.

Don't accept the narration of the police PRO. Yes, Mr. Odunayo might have broken traffic rule, does it warrant an officer to shoot at him? What time does he have to be driving in commotion as painted by the police after beating the traffic?

Some of these officers are high on something before embarking on the day's activities. Many are also cultists seeking to shed blood.

This is totally avoidable. Big blames on both the driver and unprofessional officer that shot the poor innocent boy.
💯 blame on the father. He's the most irresponsible fool I have seen this year for driving in such manner with kids in the car. All he had to do was plead when he was first blocked and settle the matter. Now life is lost. I'm sure he will lose his marriage too.
