This is the shocking moment a landlord deliberately damages a tenant’s air conditioner simply because he doesn’t want AC units used on his property.

The video has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.

The big question is: Does a landlord have the right to do this? And what would you do if you were in the tenant’s shoes?

All these unhealthy old men wey their life battery no reach 8% always look for who to kpai them.

I'm glad the young man handled the situation in a civil way.

Personally, I doubt I'll be this calm and watch another human destroy my property. May God grant me the patience and civility of this young man in chaotic situations. Amen 🙏

Do these ever think a day would definitely come when such things would be vanity angry

And one thing that always gives me joy is the fact that both the oppressed and the oppressor will never escape death.....

I understand that some landlords have appliance use restrictions on their tenancy agreement, sometimes due to billing and cable quality or wiring issues, but even if that was the case, the landlord still has no right to damage the tenant’s property. Tenant should sue for damages, and start looking for a new place before his rent expires.

I watched the video previously.

Question not answered: Are they sharing same metre?

We need the complete story. Even the tenant didn't tell us why the landlord did that.

Most Nigerian landlords aren't normal. May be they think they are going to carry their houses along when they die.

Na so one here increased rent just after 14months I moved into the house.

They just want u to become evil like them when u eventually build ur own house.

They are highly untamed.

So the tenant is just supposed to sweat to death? What’s wrong with using AC in a rental property?

You read such things and you wonder at the level of sanity in Nigeria...!

Person go suffer the stress of navigating transportation in that country, job stress, family and relationship stress, come still come back to meet this at home.

Americans never see half of this mental stress yet they don dey do mass shooting.

Nigerians truly have a unique and strange threshold for SUFFERING.

In reality a landlord has the right to decide whether a tenant can use ac or not ...it is best the tenant ask relevant questions before parking in ....some people rent house and start behaving like the owner ...

Why? Does it affect the structural integrity of the building?

All these one-sided stories sef.

Even people who have never bought just 50 bags of cement at a go have also started demonizing the landlord for trying to protect his property/investment undecided

If the landlord says you should not install an AC on his property for some cogent reasons eg if it's an old building and the walls are weak, I think the tenant should respect those wishes or move to another house

Oya make you go take over his property na because of one bloody AC that is worth at most 600K for a brand new unit. undecided
