Stock market, 401k no longer matter

Inflation has fallen to the lowest level in more than four years as April’s Consumer Price Index smashes expectations for the third straight month

Here’s what you need to know:

Grocery prices saw their largest decline in nearly five years.

Grocery Prices See Biggest Drop In 5 Years As Trump’s Policies Take Effect
https://www.businessreport.com/article/us-grocery-prices-see-biggest-drop-in-nearly-five-years

Gas prices fell for the third month in a row.
The average price for gasoline at the pump has declined for a fourth straight week and may fall below $3 a gallon to the lowest level in years

Egg prices saw the largest one-month decline in more than four decades.

Egg prices fell 12.7% last month, the biggest monthly decline since 1984, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday. And they could continue to fall this month, too: The USDA reported last week that a dozen large white-shell eggs now cost $3.30 on average, down a whopping 69 cents from a week before.

Trump’s company will be building a golf resort in Qatar, and Trump’s favourite, Bondi, was a lobbyist for Qatar. Truly a Banana republic. Greed used to be ‘a deadly sin’. Apparently it’s name is God now.

Civilizations don't start at a uniform timeframe. Other societies were also civilized when the Whites began to wear clothes.
My point is that; when other people build their civilization and open the door for you to partake, don't be talking anyhow and going against their interest.
America will go to the dogs, the day all these minorities take charge.

Who said building manufacturing companies will be quick

Educating people to manufacture takes a whole lot longer.

No matter how long it takes, the more important thing is to realize how as a leader you are making your country vulnerable in national security, costing your people employment by sending jobs abroad

The historical average unemployment rate (January 1948-September 2020) is 5.8%, and no one was accusing anyone of "costing your people employment by sending jobs abroad" then apart from perhaps a brief period of moaning about Japan.

The USA unemployment rate has risen since hitting a 50-year low of 3.4% in April 2023. Since May 2024, the unemployment rate has stayed between 4% and 4.2%. Are you sure they want to work at the jobs that might be created?

As for national security, I can't help feel that problem was solved decades ago, but the bogey man must exist. China don't seem to have that worry, odd enough, and would gladly buy Nvidia and Intel if they could.

Seriously, America seems like a sports team that sends henchmen to cripple their opponent's star player so they may win. They can't compete so they gerrymander the rules to their advantage, and expect the whole world to play their way. I can't help wonder how long some might before more don't, since America is not the only nation that needs to stop "costing your people employment by sending jobs abroad".

I guess 🙄

Donald Trump's "big, beautiful" bill would kick hundreds of thousands in Illinois off Medicaid.

This isn't just belt-tightening, it's a death sentence for everyday Americans — all in the name of tax breaks for his friends at Mar-a-Lago.

Pretty sure Nazi Germans kept better records than these bumbling ijits

The punishment for crossing a border (an imaginary line by trump’s own ission) should not be death. It’s cruel and unusual punishment. If you see nothing wrong with it, you’re scum.

The Enabling Act of 1933 (German: Ermächtigungsgesetz, officially titled Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich lit. 'Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich'),[1] was a law that gave the German Cabinet—most importantly, the Chancellor, Adolf Hitler—the power to make and enforce laws without the involvement of the Reichstag or President Paul von Hindenburg. By allowing the Chancellor to override the checks and balances in the constitution, the Enabling Act was a pivotal step in the transition from the democratic Weimar Republic to the totalitarian dictatorship of Nazi .

One thing I know about UK is we wouldn't last long if we impose tariffs on China. Just think. We brexited, which was a sort of imposition of tariffs on Europe, and now we want to tariff China too? Is that because we think we can survive on trade with America and India?

China seems to be the only one investing outside their own country these days, and we need their foreign direct investment, and if this government don' t understand that we'd replace them with someone who does.

As for US? Gerrymandering, I think,

The United States just lost its last perfect credit rating, a loss that could rattle financial markets and push up interest rates.

Moody’s Ratings downgraded the United States’ debt on Friday. Of the three major credit rating agencies, Moody’s was the lone holdout, maintaining its outstanding rating of AAA for US debt. Moody’s held a perfect credit rating for the United States since 1917.

Trump negotiated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan? This is why bold faced disgusting lies need to be called out.

Trump claimed he negotiated a cease fire.

India immediately stepped up and denied any Trump involvement in the ceasefire. They even went on the news and lambasted him for lying.

He immediately backed down and said he didn’t want to claim that he negotiated the ceasefire but “he helped”.

The relentless bold faced lying doesn’t get exhausting? I would seriously question any dealings I have with people who lie so easily and smoothly

The US president made similar claims over the next few days. On Wednesday, Trump again said he had "brokered" a deal between India and Pakistan.

“Just days ago, my istration successfully brokered a historic ceasefire to stop the escalating violence between India and Pakistan, and I used trade to a large extent to do it,” he said. “I said, fellas, come on, let’s make a deal. Let’s do some trading. Let’s not trade nuclear missiles. Let’s trade the things that you make so beautifully,” he added.

However, these claims were strongly rejected by India.

The external affairs ministry issued a detailed six-point rebuttal denying any US mediation or trade leverage in the ceasefire agreement.

They clarified that the ceasefire was achieved directly through military-to-military channels between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan, without any involvement of trade discussions or US threats.

India also rejected Trump's suggestion of third-party mediation on Kashmir, reaffirming that Kashmir is a bilateral issue to be resolved only between India and Pakistan.

Amid this pushback, President Trump appeared to moderate his earlier statements.
