MCSE hiking fees to 0.75% from 1st July.

that's extra 250k to 500k monthly brokerage fees for me.

Who has a trading license here.
I'll commit to N2bn annual trading value if you'll offer 0.5%

It's better to pay 1% brokerage fees and get better services

True, but I got great services with Morgan capital even while their fees were 0.25%

Whereas I tried some folks with 1% fee, they take forever to respond.

Competitive fees doesn't imply poor services, neither does high fee guarantee great service.

0.5% of 10bn will always be better than 1% of 3bn.

See Morgan Capital I ran to because of low brokage fees. They have also increased their fees upwards slightly. Well, I guess I will still patronize them as I believe their rates are still okay compared to my other broker. This Tinubu economy, everyone is just increasing prices. I don't blame Morgan Capital. But, their mail shocked me.

I assume they would. Some days I see transaction counts of around 1000 out of which I made 50.

Maybe when I trade up to N1bn monthly, I'll be able to negotiate fees.

I'm not a fund manager 😁

Just approach Atlass portfolio for negotiations.
They have same interface trading platform like Morgan.
They may also review their fees upwards in the coming months the way things are going

What a good Q1 and excellent weeks in May 2025! How did your portfolio(s) perform this quarter and in May so far? My two NGX portfolios are doing well, returning 42% and 34% from January to date. I've been fortunate in my stock picks on both the NGX and NYSE. Here at home, Tony Elumelu-listed companies have provided a Gibraltar-like anti-volatility shield for my portfolio against devaluation and inflation, which often impact the market. On the other hand, the Warren Buffett Berkshire shield, Gold ETF shield, Euro Stoxx, MSCI, China. India and Japanese MSCI have protected my portfolio against potential sell-offs induced by Donald Trump's tariff policies on NYSE stocks. Fortunately, the market has recovered, and it's now deeply green. This experience suggests investors are moving away from the "sell in May and buy back in June" strategy. May 2025 has been a rewarding month for investors globally. In the past, Mr. Agbalowomeri might have cashed out in May and re-entered the market in June, but it's great to see his orientation shifting towards a more investor-like mindset. Charlie Munger's advice to "be cautious in a bull market and optimistic in a bear market" might seem outdated with the availability of portfolio shields today. Now, Nigeria investors can hedge against volatility and inflation using exotic currency, gold, crypto currency, real estate, and index investments.
While it's true that having portfolio shields can help mitigate risks, his advice remains relevant. Munger emphasises the importance of understanding market dynamics and investor behaviour. In a bull market, investors often become less cautious, forgetting the importance of price and risk management. His quote highlights the need for discipline and rational decision-making, even with access to hedging tools.

Yes I've already reached out to them on Whatsapp.

No response yet. Good thing I still have 6 weeks.

At 0.5% average fee, I don't need to negotiate with them, it's already fair enough.

I can just port like 20% of my portfolio there till I build enough confidence.

Thanks for mentioning them.

I like small margins on large volumes. I don't think I've ever exited a position at up to 20% upside. Usually below 5%.
Below 2% net of all fees and charges.

But i'll take 2% of N150m over 15% of N15m, plus the fees I pay help keep maybe an extra cleaner or other staffers in jobs.

All reinvesting and no flexing can make Jack frustrated.
