When people complained about withheld results, and absurd scores, this was JAMBs position.

I get the point you're trying to make but let's be honest if he were in a saner system we all aspire to he would have resigned yesterday.

The actions of the institution that he leads have negatively impacted the lives of significant number of students including that poor girl in Ikorodu who committed suicide.

.......he is the leader and must take the full responsibility which he has done regretably. So what do you want him to do next?!

I think there may be another data issue Prof Oyedele is still hiding, which is the unusual number of high scores over 250 which may also be the result of the shuffling error

Just as the shuffling system shuffled most people down in scores, for a lucky percentage the shuffling may have worked in their favour which is why we have an abnormal distribution of high scores. Too many high scores, way too many low scores and not enough people in the average range

Should have resigned along with the Head of IT and other people responsible for this mess.

Why are auditors difficult to work with?
I have witness auditors and fin.ants always at loggerhead because of simple ing process.
I have come to conclusion these auditors are old skool some of them uses excel and will rather journal for adjustments instead of simple reversal, some don't even know how ERP works
What are they teaching them in school then, I am not an ant but I know for every credit there's a corresponding debit, that simple law open my eyes to .
I think learning ERP should be introduced to them in school

That thing that looks like Wahala that they are doing is what saves companies hundreds of millions in of detecting fraud and compliance with tax laws.

Crisis Management 101 at Exec level:

1st step - Can we get away with it

NO - move to 2nd step

2nd step - Can we identify all centres and candidates affected

YES - but will take 2 weeks - 2 weeks later, move to 3rd step

3rd step - Can we remark all papers affected by the random shuffling - MAYBE - will take 1 week to find out

1 week later. . . cannot remark the papers, move to 4th step

4th step - inform Minister of Education who now needs 1 week to position with Tinubu, including how to communicate to public and budget provision for resits

1 week later

5th step - it to public having completed all steps prior and having made provisions for resit at budgetary and operational level

Na so 4 weeks take waka

I have been in this position few times, the last thing you want to do is it error without having the solution to hand.

In all honesty, all of these should have been discovered before releasing the results.

Especially at the (IT/Data) quality review stage. I would expect a standardized exam like this to have a lot of thorough post-exam analysis which should have taken place prior to releasing the results.

At the very least, every one failing on a particular day from a particular region should have raised some skepticism internally.

Hopefully they review their exam processes after this cos this is really bad. The margin of error for an exam that decides people's fate should be as low as realistically possible and not this show of shame

Yes but they are ways to go about it
That's why it's good for companies to have Internal audit so that they can go square with the EY auditors or any other one
Omo I don't have that patience to be drilled by someone because you don't know how ERP work

You know as e be na

Just Anambra result not being in line with trend should have already raised red flags

But I think the collation is done at the end. Data is very easy to aggregate once all the work is done. Don't be surprised if the timeframe between collation of insightable data and announcement of final results is few days to a week. After all election turnaround time is 24 hours within which all data sets by region etc are aggregated

Even at that you may have various levels of the food chain managing their communication levels eg IT manager not fronting up to Director until he has reviewed and trouble-shooted etc which causes delays along the whole chain. And even Oyedele himself may be too lazy to review the data for insights along the way in the process until the final data landed on his head like a sledgehammer.

What I'm reading now is that anybody who sat for this year's JAMB are advised to go check their portal and check if they have been scheduled to resit so they can reprint their exam slip. Some people who scored above 200 too are being rescheduled for resit o.

I saw someone saying she scored 264 and another person scored 256; they were both reschedule to resit tomorrow.

If these ones come re-write and score lower nko? 🤷‍♂️

It's just a mess. Imagine having to resit an exam you thought you were already done with.

The collation was done with the errors and they were already releasing data off what they chose to collate, that was why the minister of education defended the failure rate by saying it was measures to curb cheating that was working.

JAMB at no point moved like a body that was trying to remedy the situation in secret, they were ready to move on despite the effect of the glitch on results. It was people that called them out on social media and insisted on an external audit that made them do the right thing.

As what false evidence or as not front loaded?

The only reason it didn't affect Tinubu is because the SC judges ate money.

SC Judges ate money like they did when they announced Obi was winner of Anambra elections in 2006

The problem is not the auditors but the ant.

Every recognition in the books is guided by IFRS/US GAAP or some other GAAP Standards. The duty of the ant/controller/CFO is to align this with whatever their postings/ERP/System is.

The auditors job is just to confirm that what the system/ERP shows aligns with what it should be per standards. When this doesnt happen is when you start having talks of adjustments here and there.

The ant's job is to be the intermediary between their system and a typical ing system

This is why Nigeria will never get better.

Why should any educational institution be writing solidarity letter to the JAMB registrar in spite of this 4cked up job he just did?
