A student of the Icon Comprehensive College, Akure, Ondo state , has been praised for his performance in the 2025 UTME The boy's UTME result has been shared on social media after it was released by the t ission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The breakdown of Olumide’s scores in the four UTME subjects is as follows: Mathematics – 98; Physics – 98; Chemistry – 94 and Use of English – 80.

The UTME result was posted by Olúyẹmí Fásípè, who identified the student as Afolabi Olumide Ayodeji. According to the post, the boy is just 15 years old. He said Afolabi scored 370, a feat considered to be great.


Who is the highest scorer in 2025 JAMB?

Legit.ng checked the claim made by Fasipe to see if it is true that no candidate had scored up to 370 in the past 10 years. In a compilation of the exception JAMB candidates published by TheCable and also shared by Legit.ng , no one had up to 370 as of 2013 to 2023.

The highest mark seen on the list was 365, which was scored by Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes in 2020. However, in 2024, Olowu David, ⁠⁠Alayande David, and⁠ ⁠⁠Orukpe Joel scored 367 each to emerge as the top three candidates Also, JAMB has yet to name the highest scorer in the 2025 UTME.

"Allow me to introduce Afolabi Olumide Ayodeji, a 15-year-old student at Icons Comprehensive College in Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State.

He has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking a long-standing record in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with an unprecedented score of 370, marking the highest score recorded in over a decade.

The t issions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) records shows that no individual has attained a score of 370 since the inception of the JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) in 2013. Let's celebrate the young legend!"

This exam method is the best to have happened to Jamb. If we had miracle centers, this boy would not have been known and appreciated. Genuine students would have been overtaken by cheaters with higher scores.

People keep saying "School na scam" yet they keep sending their wards to sch and even going as far as fasting and praying in JAMB CBT centres to enhance their wards' jamb result.

Well, na small thing for us sha... I'm not very surprised. If you check the last 15 years, at least 5-6 of the top 10s are usually from the SW—e.g. for every top 10 lists (of each year), you're likely to get 5-6 of us in that list, that's huge. Greatness is naturally ingrained in the RNAs and DNAs of these people.

In most cases, almost all the tops are from schools in the SW in any case...

Last year jamb said they've stopped announcing the names and profiles of the highest candidate. This was probably because the candidate with the highest wasn't from the south west.

Now we have a candidate from the south west they've gone back to announcing the highest scoring candidate.
