If you're not ed in any country, you can go for MSC Pre-registration nursing in UK.

To my understanding and research, Pre-registration programs are for D. Meaning, it is tailored towards people who are already working with NHS and wish to move higher to the next rung of the ladder. I doubt if it is open to international applicants. If it is so, so many Nigerian nurses struggling to their CBT, IELTS and other NMC qualifying exams required to get ed would have adopted that approach. I think Canada also has something similar too.

Please I stand to be corrected. You may enlighten more with examples please. That option won't be a bad idea at all to explore.

Does York St John University require POF before issuing CAS?

Also, how long is their CAS issuance period?

Dey don’t require POF before issuing CAS, CAS issuance depends on when you apply, if you apply during the peak period, it takes time. Presently I learnt that they have stopped issuing CAS for September intake, its full.

Also, Do one needs to pay initial tuition deposit immediately after receiving an unconditional offer, or wait till after Pre CAS interview?

Cos upon checking my application status, I saw that it has an update, and it states the I am required to pay the deposit.

Meanwhile, in my unconditional offer letter received, they included that upon ing the Pre CAS interview, then a deposit is required to be made.

Unconditional offer came in late April, and till date I have mailed them requesting to be scheduled for interview, but the said they are working on it for this month, on both instances when I emailed them.

So, the two are saying different things, Application status is saying you have an unconditional offer and as part of your requirements to move to the next stage, you are required to pay the deposit to proceed to your enrollment.

While Unconditional offer letter is saying, upon ing pre CAS interview, a deposit is required to be made.

Biko help me make sense of this .

And for all others too, do you normally proceed to make deposit payments after receiving an unconditional offer or you wait for your successful interview results?

Bro, people should understand that the Graduate Visa is different from the student Visa. The graduate visa is what the UKVI policy is referring to, as being reduced from 24months (2yrs) to 18months (1y 6month)

A Graduate visa can only be applied for after completing an educational program in the UK, Its a means that afford people who have just completed their study in the UK and are yet to get a skilled visa and are nearing the expiration of their student visa to stay behind in the uk for up to 2year - 3years depending on your course of program,

Also note that the Graduate visa can not be renewed or extended, but holders can switch to another visa category.

So, literally it doesnt affects potential applicants.

Where it may affect potential MSc or MRes applicant is if after your initial 2years student visa in the UK, You stil have not gotten a work sponsorship, then it means, your chances of staying beyond in the UK for another 2years while you search for job sponsorship has been reduced to 1year and 6months,

1. No, most pre-registration courses don't require D for international students in the way you interpreted it to be. What they need is to have (for most schools) is proven relevant work experience in health care or something clinical related that can be related to the role of nursing. So the schools can ask you to fill a portfolio form, attend an interview before they give you ission, provide of ed healthcare professionals you've worked under, or fill RPL forms.
2. You can confirm by checking the entry requirements for MSC pre-registration Nursing in Glasgow Caledonian University, Coventry University, Brunel University, University of Suffolk, UCLAN, etc. Note for UCLAN and Brunel, the course is called MSC ed Nursing but it is pre-reg nursing. And for Coventry only Mental Health Nursing pre-registration is open to international students.
2. IELTS is compulsory for both pre-registration and normal nursing. It is UK's requirement for any type of nursing.

This is a bit misleading.

You are not allowed to switch from your student visa to a work visa until you have completed your academic program. Most student visas expire about 4- 6 months after the end of the academic program.

For a year MSc Program

You literally get a 2years visa

1year for study and 1 year post study that's 2 year's


For a 2 years MSc/MRes programs

You get a 3years visa

2years for your study and 1 year post study that's 3years

So literally you still have a whole post study to get a job and switch.

My only concern for now, is if the UK finally say, that student visa holders should not be allowed to switch visa.

Then that will be a big program.

Now just like I explained, as you begin to approach the expiration of your students visa, you can then apply for a graduate visa.

While most people don't go for the graduate visa and choose to seek asylum is because you'd also need to pay IHs and that's huge also for 2years...

When you apply for a Graduate visa, you’ll need to:

pay the £880 application fee
pay the healthcare surcharge - this is usually £1,035 for each year you’ll be in the UK

*You can get a job as a student, but not easy at the moment as most of them prefer someone that can work full time.

*Accommodation is a little bit high in York, my house rent is 950 pounds per month and it’s just one bedroom. But you can stay in Leeds or Bradford. There are student accommodations in Bradford for 370 pounds with personal toilet & bathroom. You will just share kitchen and sitting room with 3 other people, and the house is furnished. You can stay in York if you can get a job in York. You share room with others.

I’m kindly seeking advice on how to go about applying for a UK visa for my sister’s daughter, who is 16 years old. She currently lives with my mother in Nigeria.

My wife and I live in the UK on a sponsorship visa. My mother visited us last year in October and stayed for five months before returning to Nigeria earlier this year. Now, I’m planning to bring my niece over to live with us temporarily and help with the kids.

I’m unsure of the best way to approach the visa application. Can I apply for her to visit the UK along with my mother, stating they are both coming for a short visit? Given that my mom has previously been granted a visa and complied with all the , would that improve the chances for my niece?

My main concern is her age — being 16, I’m worried the visa might be refused. I would really like to avoid a refusal on her record. When my mother applied last time, my wife and I sent her an invitation letter, but she used her own bank statement to show proof of funds, which was sufficient.

Also, my niece and my mother both share the same surname. Would it make any difference if we presented her as my mother’s daughter rather than her granddaughter? Would that help the case in any way?
