An unusual domestic saga has unfolded in Abia State, where an 80-year-old man allegedly served his wife divorce papers, sparking outrage and disbelief within the local community. The incident was brought to public attention by Ochiegbu Marvelous, a human rights advocate on Facebook, who intervened after the 70-year-old woman was reportedly detained by the police on the orders of her husband. According to Marvelous, the man accused his wife of attempting to poison him five years ago, and used the allegation to have her taken into custody. In a post shared on social media, Marvelous narrated the bizarre sequence of events: “80-year-old man from my village served his wife of 70 years divorce papers last week from the high court in Abia. Their first son is in his 40s.” He revealed that he and his team were able to secure the woman’s release from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Abia State. Marvelous further alleged that the man sold off 20 plots of land in an apparent effort to “show his wife pepper.” Matters escalated when their son challenged his father over the situation, only for the father to allegedly include his son’s name in a petition, labelling him a kidnapper. “I don’t really know the person engineering this, but I’m disappointed. Accusing someone with no questionable character of being a kidnapper is just too much,” Marvelous wrote. He praised officers at the State SCIID for their professionalism and swift handling of the case, saying they kept his team well-informed throughout the ordeal. 2 Likes |

Imagine. She didn't poison you in over 40 years of marriage, it's when you're both quarter to the grave that you decide she wants to kill you? Imagine selling off your children's inheritance all because of alleged poisoning. A fool at 40 is a fool forever, then what of a fool at 80? Baba should say the truth.

It seems this marvellous guy knows the woman better than her husband does. How does he know she has no questionable character? There's no smoke without fire. 11 Likes |

The 70 years old wife must have been a good mother to his son but a bad and terrible wife to the husband,, knowing fully well he is close to his grave at 80 years, he decided to sell of most of his assets they could inherit.. so no inheritance when he's dead and gone

MrDoGood:Is my old grandparent not a human being whose rights should be respected or something? ![]() 2. Young people have a right to be dramatic, but older grandparents don't have the right to be? What are you even saying,g abeg? ![]() 3. A young person who has been hit in the head is allowed to be dramatic, but not an old grandparent? What is this? ![]() 1 Like |

Since we’re all speculating, let’s include this: Maybe the family thinks the father has lived his life and should leave the lands for his children, but man thinks he still got some gas left in the tank and wants to keep going with some “hot” widow or maybe some secret family somewhere, so wife wanted to “intervene” on behalf of her children 2 Likes 1 Share |
