6500 on Bolt to Shomolu from Airport is not fair to the driver. Less 25%, we are looking at 4600+.
Bolt/Uber/Indrive because of their selfish interest undercut fares at the Airport.
That's why the local operators @ MM1 also prevent Bolt from picking up at the terminal. It's not good, but Uber/Bolt/Indrive too all do crazy stuff trying to push out other local players.
So, I guess it's all about trying to survive.

IMO, Airport pick ups are not really worth the stress, no thanks to the undercutting fare tactics of Bolt/Uber/Indrive.

Pls what's the way forward on this issue. I was stopped by the police early this morning and he ask for paper which I gave to him. He then said this is old proof of ownership as it has no expiring date on it. He then proceed and ask when I bought the car and if it's tokunbo or Nigeria used (I think this is where I fk up with my response, and shot myself in the leg). To cut the story short I had to settle him with 3k before he allow me go. He then told me next time I should let them know I bought the car as tokunbo and the new proof of ownership will be available after the current one expires and if it's fairly use I'll need affidavit and police report to back it up, but we know as police operate they will still find way to pin you. NB: The car in question is Nigeria Used, same with all previous car used.

This is the first time I'm experiencing this as my previous cars once they check the paper they always tell me to go so this one was surprising to me.

What's the way out in this situation

Is not only Lagos Bro, it happens in abuja too.
Even bolt has a minimum feee an airport rider must pay no matter where you are going.

Again I won't believe any driver will force your sister to pay more than what the app displayed, the driver simply made her to negotiate and this have nothing to do with airport.
A lot of drivers do this too, just that it is common at the airport.
They do it because inside the 6,500 app is bringing they will remove like 1,500 for airport fees and they feel nothing much will be left after bolt take thier commission.
Those airport cabs won't even leave thier space for nothing less than 20k if you're going outside ikeja.

Within late last year till date, I have landed at PH airport (thrice), Abuja aurport (once), Uyo (twice), Kano (once), Jos(once), Asaba (once) and warri (twice).
To be very honest and from my experience, Lagos still one of the cheapest for me when it comes to booking ride to exit the airport. Maybe because I dey always trek out sha to that AP filling station (that may be a factor).
In PH, it's usually between 20-25 to get to Tombia Gra, it's just about 50 mins to an hour. I did about the same amount in Abj to get to Aminu Kano.. Kano na airport taxi, the last one collected 25k to get us to that area where d non indigenes are ( can't now). I still get 10-12k average to v.i for MM2 on a regular.
Once you're in other state, you're practically wasting your time booking a ride to exit the airport. Whatever fare you see on app, just do ×5 and start negotiating.

The last day I went out was last week Wednesday, and below is the break down of the trips. I started the day with a visit to the filing station, and bought 25k fuel.

*First trip
From Idimu-Ejigbo road to Governors road (Igando road end of governors road, not ikotun end)
Duration - 18 mins
Distance - 7.7km
My income - N2,499


*Second trip
From Isheri-igando road to Ikorodu
Duration - 94 mins
Distance - 45km
My income - N9,640

*Third trip
From Ikorodu to Tejuosho market, Yaba
Duration - 72 mins
Distance - 29.8km
My income - N6,337

*Fourth and final trip (The trip was going directly to my area, and I wanted to close for the day...which is the reason I took this ride)
From Unilag/University road to Egbeda
Duration - 65 mins
Distance - 18.6km
My income - N6,069


Total money spent on fuel for the day - N25,000

Total income - 2,499 + 9,640 + 6,337 + 6,069 = 24,545

Real income for the day 24,545 - 25,000 = -455


This means, after working for hours last week Wednesday, I actually lost N455 naira. This is why I decided to stop and re-evaluate things.

So guys, what do you think? Is it my car, or the trips I took?
