Tbf EVs are hardly using the quality of cells we have in this market. I'm sure there's a massive, massive gap in quality. For example, The Xiaomi SU7 ultra has just a 93.7KWH battery but can output 1548 HP. Over 1MW. That's about 11C discharge. You think a Felicity battery can handle that?

Secondly, those same EVs start degrading noticeably within like five years, which may just be ~1200 cycles. The high charge and discharge rates are undoubtedly a factor.

Androblaze

Can your average lifepo4 cell handle 0.5c charging without issues? Why not. Would 0.2c objectively and scientifically be less stressful on the cells? Also yes. By how much is what we don't know. I think charging at 0.2-0.3c is a perfectly fine way to use lifepo4 here, especially considering the quality of cells we get.

Most EVs use lithium ion cells, not lifepo4.
Lithium ion is more energy dense and some can handle 20C and higher...while most lifepo4 is max 1c or 2c at most...as going higher than this couldead to premature battery failure...

Specially designed lifepo4 may be able to handle higher C ratings...but the prismatic cells normally used for home energy storage cant

Good evening everyone.
Thank you all for the great information being shared here. It means a lot.

Please I need help. I believe most of us here either use inverter freezers or have an idea of it. I want to get either thermocool 219L or Scanfrost 230L inverter freezers but I don’t know which will serve me better. Any experience from here will be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much🙏🏼

I use the 319L thermocool. It's awesome..... although I noticed one side thaws faster than the other if there is no power supply and I slightly feel the coldness from the body.

Cañ this integrated with a regular inverter?

Depends if your iinverter is Axpert or VoItronic type. It is compatible with Deye,EG4,Axpert,Growatt, MPP Solar, Sol-Ark, SunSynk, Kodak, SRNE, MUST Power,Mecer,RCT,Luxpower, Megarevo,Easun Power, Infini Solar

Not compatible with :

ABB
APEX/MLT
Atess
Fronius
Epever (Expected 2025)
Renogy
Schneider
SMA
Sofar
Solar edge

Go with Scanfrost. I have a non inverter 250L Scanfrost freezer that draws a maximum of 160w. Freezer keeps everything frozen all day long after running for 8 hours daily (8am to 4pm)

See bro,
The problem you are facing goes beyond s. The required s are needed to refill, your battery bank or to avoid quick drain during use of sumo. But your battery size is capable of doing this since you are not running it for hours.

Your present system should be able to power your sumo without the of anything under normal condition.

If you solely depend on sunlight and large pv, how do you pump during raining period, early morning and night hours?

Check your cables and all terminals that require very firm connections from batteries to inverter. The Satchet inverter terminals need super firmess. I made use of plier to achieve this. Hand tight won't give you this strong tight.
How do I confirm this is 314ah lifepo4? These are batteries from Valto.

Your bms wasnt set up properly...the battery capacity is on default 40ah, where as it shud be 314ah .

Another way is to do a capacity test.charge full
.then drain and see how many ah you get from it.

3rd option is to open the case and eyeball each cell.
However this may void ur warranty and isnt 100% accurate. The capacity test is the preferred option

Technically I don't consider this 800k a really good deal because someone here builds same 24v 280ah with Grade A cells and smart BMS for #840k.So why pay 800k for Grade B cells ,with no smart BMS?

Hello, @bolded; who?

Not necessarily true anymore. For example, the Xiaomi SU7 range uses a mix of CATL and LFP cells. Most Teslas built starting last year also use LFP or NMC.

But yeah, I get your point.

This argument seems to have left the forum poorer.

Someone very knowledgeable has completely erased all his contributions to the forum.

It is a net loss and not a gain.
Then the "someone knowledgeable" must have some sort of a mental illness

I don't use app. And don't know if your app can display it. My point is, even if your battery is 200ah or 2.6kwh, it should power it.

Please can anyone suggest where I can get a good MPPT charge controller with maximum PV array open circuit voltage of 250VDC or more

You have clearly not set it up properly.

You need to edit those figures.

Your battery capacity should be 314 not 40. You need to correct that first.

Have you charged this battery up fully, I doubt that? The Charing parameters should be on the sticker. Check it and adjust the charging source appropriately

So I made a post yesterday, where I said that I moved my solar mount to a different location and I was getting around 700w as against 500w.

Well, it seems that'd be the first and, I hope it's not, the last time I'd get such output.

I noticed today, as the sun was high, when it's closer to 600w, it goes back down to around 27w and then gets back to 600w, as long as the sun's intensity stayed the same. It's just like a loop. It normalizes where the production is around 577w and below.

So I'm suspecting that PowMr might have overstated the PV's maximum capacity of the 12v at 720w, when in reality it's just 600w.

I might be wrong, though. It's just my layman observation. Maybe the experienced folks can help me understand what actually is going on.

Haisic Batteries does not look like Grade B. Though I didn't get full pictures more like Gotion, Hithium, Grade Cells 280AH complete..

The Real Grade B will be revealed soon grin
how soon is soon please? Because I have been using the allegedly grade B since July 2023 till date no change. Rather I think I am yet to hit the real capacity because I once sured the claimed one. Buy the grade B and enjoy.

This is too much money. You can buy POWMR POW-48140A for around $260 (400k). Voc is around 500v (48v 140amps). I ordered 10 for my project.
Another cheap option is to buy a 5kv felicity hybrid inverter and use it as a charge controller. I believe Voc is around 500v
