Of the three military officers who forcefully took over the reins of office in the West African countries of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger Republic, Ibrahim Traore, an army captain, has run the most effective propaganda machine built on what his ers describe as Pan-Africanist, anti-imperialist ideology. At bottom, however, he has merely substituted Western hegemony with Russian hegemony. The latter is operated by Russian Africa Corps, a rechristening of the notorious Wagner Forces. Banded together in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), the three countries kicked out and the United States, and delinked from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) which had denounced the sacking of democracy in those countries.

Capt. Traore’s propaganda exaggerates or fabricates economic development and social conditions in Burkina Faso, with most of the country’s economic indicators showing no sign of improvements. Even the main coup goals of solving the refugee crisis caused by insurgency, rebuilding the economy, and curbing the jihadist insurgency that has tripled death toll since the coup, have remained intractable. Instead, civil rights have been abridged, and democracy, suspended in 2022 after the coup, has been put on the backburner. Last Wednesday, less than one week after Capt. Traore claimed to have exposed a coup plot, thousands of demonstrators observing a ‘global day of for Capt. Traore’ marched on Western embassies in London, Paris, Accra, Ouagadougou, Kingston, and other African cities to compel ‘imperialist powers’ to hands off Burkina Faso and the AES states. Some of them even threatened to burn down London should Capt. Traore die of natural causes. Let them try that with President Donald Trump.

The demonstrations, like the propaganda for Capt. Traore, were reportedly inspired and funded by Russia which has sought to expand its turf wars with the West to the African continent. They have been effective, even if conditions on the ground in the AES have deteriorated. It is a mark of the specious reasoning assailing Africans, their love for showmanship, and their inability to take the long-term view of their future that they have once again embraced dictatorship and submitted and committed to an even more reactionary Russian tyrant. It is a sign of the poverty of thinking that Capt. Traore’s oppressive rule and malevolent and Russian-inspired propaganda have drawn applause from some Nigerians.

Gabon military leader is now the president of Gabon. Presidents from different countries including Nigeria vice president attended the inauguration. How many billion was spent to conduct the election is not anybody's business but why spend such when you can normalize yourself as the president without spending such amount to appease the west.

When people are shouting propaganda about a country that is not theirs, just know that they have been paid to do so like many are paid to make frivolous claims about our economy.

It might be for your sanity as you won't be seeing posts by those parrots that can only construct what they hear or are told.
But for general good, you should not block them so you can disprove their distorted claims. They have been turned to NPC like. They can not act outside their program and leaving them without check will see them becoming popular with false claims.

Leave Ibrahim Traore alone for God's sake! What is the matter with these french people? Have they not exploited their colonies enough? Ibrahim Traore has been in power for 3 years, they're yapping that the economic development is exaggerated, how well did the French puppets in power develop the country when they were there? So what if he's working with Russia? At least Russia never colonised Africa and ripped the continent off its resources like western Europeans. We Africans need to unite against western imperialism and leaders like Ibrahim Traore

I have never believed this Traore guy, he should conduct election and usher in democracy, not this propaganda that he is running. Herd mentality is a big issue for the majority of Nigerians, they don't want to be seen expressing a contrary opinion, hence their love for a guy running a dictatorship in his country. For me it's either democracy or nothing. A tenured democracy is a million years ahead of a military government that always wants to rule for life. Countries like Equitorial Guinea, Cameroun and others are examples of countries where their citizens are stuck with a set of bad leaders. In democracy, if a leader is bad, he can always be voted out according to the constitution, but not so for a military government.

This Traore will still be the leader of Burkina Faso in 10 years time except his people rise up and forcefully remove him. Na sit tight syndrome be their issue.

The Nation newspaper should stop this propaganda on Capt. Troure the current African Hero and focus on Nigeria where the owner of the newspaper has destroyed our economy and currency.

For your information, Burkinabe currency(CFA Franc BCEAO) currently has more value than our Naira. (1 XOF = 2.74599 NGN)

What a shame.

Two Years of President Ibrahim Traore

Burkina Faso’s GDP grew from approximately $18.8 billion to $22.1 billion.
He has rejected loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. He said, “Africa doesn’t need the World Bank, IMF, Europe, or America.”
He reduced the salaries of ministers and parliamentarians by 30% and increased the salaries of civil servants by 50%.
He paid off Burkina Faso’s local debts.
He established two tomato processing plants, the first-ever in Burkina Faso.
In 2023, he inaugurated a state-of-the-art gold mine to enhance local processing capabilities.
He stopped the export of unrefined Burkina Faso gold to Europe.
He built Burkina Faso’s second cotton processing plant. Previously, the country had only one.
He opened the first-ever National Center for Artisanal Cotton Processing to assist local cotton farmers.
He banned the wearing of British legal wigs and gowns in local courts and introduced traditional Burkinabé attire.
He prioritized agriculture by distributing over 400 tractors, 239 tillers, 710 motor pumps, and 714 motorcycles to boost production and rural stakeholders.
He provided access to improved seeds and other farm inputs to maximize agricultural output.
Tomato production in Burkina Faso increased from 315,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 360,000 metric tonnes in 2024.
Millet production rose from 907,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 1.1 million metric tonnes in 2024.
Rice production increased from 280,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 326,000 metric tonnes in 2024.
He banned French military operations in Burkina Faso.
He banned French media in Burkina Faso.
He expelled French troops from Burkina Faso.
His government is constructing new roads, widening existing ones, and upgrading gravel roads to paved surfaces.
He is building a new airport, the Ouagadougou-Donsin Airport, which is expected to be completed in 2025 with a capacity to handle 1 million engers annually.
How many African leaders can boost these kind of achievements in 2 years

Can the nation newspaper and other ers of Tinubu show us similar achievements of Tinubu, within thesame time frame

As usual, Nigerian government and it's press are showing their slavery mentality again.

One of the effects of constant visit of the president to is showing.

They have started using their usual media propaganda to paint those they can't control black again.

Just like they did to Gaddafi, they have started the ground job for their western masters.

I spit!
