These Igbos are comedian. Paid Azuka Okah to organize a group called Akiko Uwa, hired actors, publicise it on the Internet and claim it's Igbanke people

They're all over social media debunking it. Igbanke has always insisted that they're not Benin by ethnicity. They've always insisted that they're Ika. The Igbo expansionist movement led by Nna Meh TV, Spirit Almighty and the rest contracted Azuka Okah and formed the akiko Uwa group which They've used for propaganda for a few years now. There's lots of sponsorship coming from certain Igbo people and Ned Nwoko was also involved. We've infiltrated their groups and I have a lot of information into what's actually going on. Expansion and access to the sea in eventual biafran independence. They're willing to go to any length to achieve their dreams. We the indigenous Ika people are watching and we'll act proactively because we won't permit anyone to play politics with our identity
This one is already foaming in the mouth

Are Igbanke people Igbos or not. Simple question but you chose to run on a usual absord tangient

Igbankes came as visitors and they are free to go back where they came from.
The bottom line is that igbanke in Edo is Igbo. Nothing else is being dragged and nothing demand chest beating. It is what it is.

We see you. We know what you are. You are waating your time.
Be there and be seeing who's not seeing you, while your real enemies are in the bushes terrorising Both of us.
I wonder when we will finally wake up to our senses in this Southern Nigeria. You're hating on the Igbos that have never raised a hand against you, have never shed your blood, and have never openly declared war upon you and then you turn a blind eye on the very people doing exactly these things. There's not a accurate word in the dictionary to describe this level of stupidity.

That boy called "Nna men whatever" engages in a lot of disinformation and propaganda using that crappy YT channel of his. There was absolutely NO where in his video that I coincidentally saw in my YouTube timeline just yesterday that the Ikas interviewed said they are Ibos. They ONLY affirmed that they are Ikas, wanted to be part of Delta State, and wanted to discontinue the use of spoken Benin language in all their political gatherings which they found disrespectful to them. This is fair enough.

Igbo as an ethnic group is a concept created as a result of colonialism. Igbo is not a race/tribe/ethnic group but a language spoken by a people of diverse origin and culture that live in a contiguous geographic space
Succinct and historically accurate.

It was ONLY after 1900 during the British Colonial rule that the concept of an "Ibo" group was created by the British Colonialists and began to manifest. The different groups in the South East such as the Ngwa, Mbaise, Owere, Oka, etc, now refered to as "Ibo" NEVER called themselves "Ibo" because it was a totally strange concept created through the British Colonial influence. The term "Ibo or Igbo" itself has derogatory and condescending origins of Igala and Edo roots, and was used by their neighbors (and outsiders to refer to the people's of the South East interior as primitive, bush people, and a source of slaves during the slave trade, who engaged in eating human beings or cannibalism) as CLEARLY stated in several advanced history books. I have some screenshots of some of those advanced history books referenced by some Ibo writers themselves which I will later if I have the time.

Igbo Presidency Will Be Difficult With This Kind of Negative Publicity about Igbo expansionist behaviour.

The way some Igbos are damaging the image of the Igbo nation is not helping their political aspirations.

How do you expect Nigeria to trust you with the presidency when you keep attacking the identity of other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria?

Let’s be clear:

There are Edo descendants in Onitsha who proudly trace their roots back to the ancient Benin Empire.

There are Igala communities in both Anambra and Enugu states.

There are Ibibio communities in Abia State, particularly around the Arochukwu area.

Even the Abiriba people are historically distinct from the Igbo.

Igbos in the South East have even forced this distinct group who are not really Igbos to drop their historical connection with their ancestry and make them appear as if every tribe in the south east is Igbo.

This is a very big lies.

The King in Igala do not interfere in what is happening in the South East.

The Oba of Benin and the Benin people do not interfere with what is happening in the South East.

The Kings in Ibibio do not call out the Igbos despite the fact that their people are indigenous to Abia state.

Why is Biafra Igbos so concerned about Igbanke, Ikwerres and the rest ethnic nationalities that do not want to follow the Igbos to Biafra?

Look at Lagos State:
The Igbo dominate almost all the seafaring businesses at the Apapa Ports and other parts of Lagos. The Yoruba people opened the doors for Igbo traders and professionals to thrive in Lagos.

At the political level, Lagos State has shown goodwill towards the Igbo:

Joe Igbokwe, an Igbo son, held a top position in Lagos politics.

Ben Ifeanyi Akabueze, another prominent Igbo figure, served as Commissioner for Budget and Planning under Tinubu and was later appointed to a major federal role in Abuja.

Even today, an Imo State woman has just been appointed as the first female spokesperson for the Nigerian Army — another example of national inclusion.

But sadly, the Igbo have not reciprocated such goodwill towards others.

In several parts of the South-South and South West, the Igbo show blatant disregard for indigenous cultures that recognize kings and traditional authorities. Instead, they impose their Ohaneze leadership structures.

This kind of behavior is what fuels distrust — and makes an Igbo presidency even harder to achieve.

You are absolutely correct with your statement.

AGBOR PEOPLE ARE FROM BENIN.

Till today they still bear bini names just like Igbanke.

They bear Osazuwa, Osagie, Igubor, etc

Even in Igbanke the closes community that is right in Edo state.

The Igbanke people are ethnic binis.

Yes, Ika influences may have come in the form of Language spoken in the course of co-existence due to migration, trade and conflicts in the land so people move to where they can find security but that does not change their EDO ancestry.

Please don't include us Ibibios in what does not concern us undecided There are no indigenous Ibibios in Abia state, our elders left Ibom kingdom after loosing the war. It's just the names which has been corrupted, since they're no Ibibio speaking group left. Example Obot Okon Ita now called Obinkita🤨
Infact the neighboring ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom to Abia state is Annang, they get along with Igbos well, because they share some similar cultures.🤔

Ibini Ukpabi itself was a typical product of the situation existing between the Igbo and the Ibibio. According to its social charter it was, in the beginning, a local god of an Ibibio group. Then it was captured by the Igbo slaves of this Ibibio group, who successfully rebelled against their servile status and sought to turn the table on their masters, who chose instead to flee the region. Under the control of these erstwhile Igbo slaves, the Ibini Ukpabi grew in influence to become, according to one authority, the most powerful oracle in West Africa by the nineteenth century

.how? Edo existed as igodomigodo before invadas from ile Ife came in to form bini you know today. Technically bini is extension of Yoruba race. Yoruba don't bear bini name, but bini bears Yoruba name in reference to their origin.

1. Historical Settlement:
Before colonial borders, the Ibibio people occupied a much larger area stretching across parts of today's Akwa Ibom State, Cross River State, and some fringes of Abia State.

Particularly around the Arochukwu area, Abam, Ohafia, and nearby regions, there were pockets of Ibibio-speaking groups.

Some of these people were absorbed, conquered, or assimilated over centuries by expanding Igbo groups, especially during the Aro Confederacy period (17th-19th centuries).

2. Specific Places Where You Find Indigenous Ibibio Roots in Abia State
Arochukwu LGA
(Some of the ancestral inhabitants before the Aro conquest were Ibibio.)

Isu and parts of Ihechiowa
(In these communities, there are traditions that mention Ibibio ancestry or early settlement.)

Cross-riverine villages along the Abia-Akwa Ibom border.

However, today most of these areas are politically and culturally classified as Igbo — through assimilation, language shift, and intermarriage over centuries.

Outsiders trying to put knife where brothers exist is null and void.

My people when these money worshippers bring their money to you to deny your roots, please take the money, chop am WELL and clean mouth then still stand on your MANDATE( Bini/ Edo roots) nothing do us.

First of all Cross River state are not Ibibios. There are several different ethnic groups in Cross River state & Akwa Ibom state whom aren't Ibibios. There are no pockets of Ibibio speaking group in Aro kingdom, because they would know how to pronounce Obot Okon Ita & not corrupt it to Obinkita which doesn't have any meaning in Ibibio.😏 Like the inventors of nsibidi Ejaghams who's Land stretches from Cross River state to Cameron. Other groups that are sometimes referred to as Ibibios in Cross River states are Efiks. Then there are Annangs, Ibibios, Oron and Andoni in Akwa Ibom state.
All these groups were sometimes referred to as Ibibios, but I'm telling you as an Ibibio that they are not Ibibios. We have different traditions and culture. Infact these differences was already discussed and explained years ago on nairaland.

The igbo lovers that cared to know, already knew that Igbankes and some other clans there (that should do their own research), are true nwafors. They are Angels.

Slavery, especially late arab to transatlantic slavery, really altered the igbo unity. While the civil war, increased the division. Igbos everywhere became an endangered specie. If you were igbos around hostile neighbors, you will be demeaned and forced to renounce your great tribe, and still not absorbed to the haters tribe. Igbos in these hostile areas all over Nigeria , still stay humble and by the grace of chukwu okike abiama, they maintained any culture that they could.

The great Igbo tribe is more than a case study. It is bigger than we all can imagine. The Igbo spiritual connection is like no other tho. Only nwafors have that spirit.

Igbos are indigenous to Igbanke, dem no be visitors looking for refugee status. so may God continue to bless the great people of Igbanke. Your Igbo kits and kin, are with you in all levels. Stay humble, and do what you can for general progress.

Some hole in the brain people up before my post, are using their small local govt tribes to be stretching neck; and supervising igbo division.; so that, they can easily suppress and oppress the igbos.

Just a reminder, igbos no dey claim people wey no be their own. Our own na our own.
Most igbos no hate others, but igbos no dey wake up go claim people. Most igbos view calabar/ibibio/annang/efik/etc as allies. Our sibling na our sibling, that one na God plan.
Any one igbo person from anywhere can lead all igbos in many great ways.

Why is it only in Igbo unity that haters go on sleepless night override. During Ikwerre/etchie/opobo time, dem go overboard, now during Igbanke, dem dey go insane. They want siblings to be estranged to each other. But Chukwu dem.

These Igbo oppressors, go as far as telling the igbos that some nwafors, are igala. Can you imagine that? How can Igbos that came back from igala, especially during the war, become igala.

Make everybody chill and mind them business. The Igbos know themselves in Nigeria, for the most part. So, let the great Igbo tribe exist.

Igbos unity is God's plan.

Igbo hatred keeps Nigeria together, the only time some people unite is if something has to do with bringing Igbos down, that's how they spent years marginalising Igbos in the Army when it was all sweet and rossy, now that Fulani and Kanuri led terrorists are decimating our Army they are now moving from village to village begging Igbo youths to enlist, they are not going to Yoruba communities
