Thank you Seun for your effort to eradicate insanity in this forum. I noticed that baseless name calling reduced and reckless banning stopped. Things are really better now and they will reach the uptimum soon.

I have noticed another thing. Issue of religion is a sensitive one here in Nigeria and Africa as whole. Every religion is very important to its faithful and so all religion should enjoy equal level of recognition. I am particularly concerned with some thing I deemed as misrepresentation.

1. Referring to Islam as VERY IMPORTANT RELIGION is very bad and lacks every sense of decency and recks of religious intolerance.

2. Classifying Christianity as 'Christianity, etc' is another religious extreme behaviour that depicts obvious disregard for christianity by the handlers if this forum.

3. Saying the you have promoted Islam to a high level shows preference. It is also wrong because no body has the capacity to elevate any religion, you can only be faithful to them.

From my above observations I can easily conclude that you are a Moslem.

My recommendations:

1. Every religion should be classified into one category. If you want to separate them, allow each one be separate, especially the known religions, including African Traditional Religion.

2. Employ the service of unbiased personnels even if on short contract to handle the issue of religion on nairaland as your crew may lack in truth the needed fairness to do so.

Seun, this is prejudice and an insult to Christianity and the other Religions. It's better you kept the name as 'Religion', no one asked for a change. We only requested you removed the oath taking requirement from Islamic section if you won't have it in others, and you've done well by doing so.

I think your writeup should serve as a yardstick. I'm not a Religious person but agree with you Seun needs to rephrase the Religious section into Christianity, Islam, African Traditional Religions. Atheists and Pagans can now fall into others.

This verse was revealed during a specific time of war between the early Muslim community and the Byzantine Empire. It was not a blanket command to terrorize or harm non-Muslims. Rather, it referred to defensive military campaigns against empires threatening the Muslim state at the time.
