That might actually be true. Having a family member here as a student means you might not return after your graduation. I applied for a student visa twice for a relative and got denied both times. ission and finances all straight .

Every requirement was met but of course the VO thought there was no compelling evidence that the student would return to Nigeria upon graduation. So it could be true that having family in the USA might be a disadvantage. Makes sense.
