PRESS RELEASE

‎MURDER: NPF COMPLETES EXTRADITION OF BENJAMIN BEST NNAYEREUGO ALIAS "KILLABOI" TO FACE CHARGES

‎As IGP Appreciates AGF, INTERPOL, Assures of Diligent Prosecution

‎The Nigeria Police Force has successfully completed the extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, male, widely known as “Killaboi,” from Doha, Qatar to Nigeria. The fugitive, who had been on the run for the murder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, was returned to the country in the early hours of today, Saturday, 19th April 2025, through the coordinated efforts with the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Force Headquarters Abuja and the Qatari Judicial Authorities.‎

‎The extradition followed a petition from the family of the deceased, submitted through their legal representatives dated 29th September 2024. The matter was assigned to INTERPOL NCB Abuja for investigation. Investigations revealed that the suspect, Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, murdered Miss Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student of Lead City University, Ibadan, at his residence located at No. 24A Abiola Apooyi Street, Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos, on 13th July 2023. After committing the crime, he fled Nigeria and later released an online video purporting to confess to the act, a deceptive strategy to derail investigative efforts.

‎Following his declaration as wanted by the NPF Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on 13th October 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his global apprehension. He was initially arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on 20th October 2023 under the false identity “KANU PRINCETON SAMUEL,” but escaped custody during a prison break on 26th November 2023 in Feeetown.

‎Further intelligence gathering revealed that the suspect continued to evade law enforcement, traversing multiple regions including West Africa, East Asia and the Middle East, under forged identities before eventually relocating to Doha, Qatar on 24th January, 2025. Operating under the alias “TOURE ABDOULAYE” with a fraudulent Guinean port, he secured illegal employment and concealed his identity.

‎Through robust international cooperation and the use of advanced biometrics, INTERPOL NCB Abuja, in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB Doha, confirmed his identity, leading to his arrest by Qatari authorities in February 2025. An official extradition request, processed via the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja, was subsequently approved by the Qatari judicial authorities, resulting in his repatriation to Nigeria.

‎The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, while recognising the strength in the synergy amongst nations to curb trans-border crimes, commended the diligence of INTERPOL NCB Abuja and extended sincere appreciation to the Honorable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Government of Qatar, INTERPOL NCB Doha, and the Nigerian Embassy in Qatar for their invaluable collaboration in securing the fugitive’s return.

‎The Inspector-General of Police further assured the general public of the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to ensuring that the suspect faces diligent prosecution, as part of the NPF’s dedication to justice and the safety of all Nigerians.

This boy is indeed a pathetic criminal, fraudster and murder using multiple fake identities as wellbto evade arrest.

Kudos to the Interpol and other Nigerian security agencies for tracking and taking him down for full justice to kick in.

Ranting about everything else instead of the real criminal in this case.
How many people are executed in the US for murder?
Most states in the US don't even have death penalty on their constitution anymore.
Keep ranting about politicians as if they fell from sky. Are they not from your villages, your town, your cities?
Are they not your uncles, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers, cousins and so on?
Nigerian politicians are just a microcosm of the Nigerian society.
In fact if they make you a leader tomorrow, you might be worse than some of the current politicians.
"Most states in the US don't even have the death penalty anymore". Not true. Out of the 50 states, 27 still have the death penalty in their constitution and 23 don't. In fact 25 people were executed in the US last year...

Not just money politics. Money is the "god" that nigerians worship, even in so-called "churches" and we will find out how powerful that God is.

The capital punishment has to take MAXIMUM effect in all cases of deliberate murder to send a strong message. The criminal justice system over there in Nigeria is annoyingly slow tbh. Why the court case involving that highly notorious armed robber and kidnapper from Anambra State called Chukwudume Onwuamadike (nicknamed Evans) and his gang hasn't been concluded after over 7 years despite overwhelming evidence absolutely beats my imagination!

This same criminal called Chukwudume robbed, kidnapped and killed innocent people in Lagos State, Edo State, Anambra State, and other parts of the South East where he was initially based and got involved in violent armed robberies from his early 20s before including kidnapping of people for huge ransom.

I read online in 2025 that the same criminal kidnapper (who pretended to be a legitimate person while hiding within the elite Magodo Estate where senior retired and serving Lagos State officials, wealthy elite lawyers and business folks have landed property and live) is now asking for clemency through his so-called lawyer. Where is the justice for his victims here? I hope the courts follow through on this case, and that of the Reverend King who was also sentenced to death by the court but that hasn't been carried out yet.

You know one thing I observed over the years ye, is that one really can't runaway from the law if the law takes on your matter.eveb if it takes 50 years of careful and well calculated invasion from the criminal, one loose guard and you are apprehended. Be warned, Crime does not pay.

To the hediot that calls himself Killaboi, I use to be his follower then on Twitter because of his good gambling prediction and generosity to his needy followers. I ired him as a young successful dude amongst others like him on Twitter but aside all this iration I felt repulsive towards him a lot and was onishing myself for being jealous or something but then he gave me a conviction and good judgement for my actions when he committed this heinous crime.

The summary to this whole yan is simple; Do not be carried away from what you see on social media. Do not beat yourself and reprimand yourself for not working hard enough. Life is like a buffet take what you need when you need more go back and have some more rather than taking so much that you end up dining with the spoils.

You can't even see through ur words. You're a jealous being whom prays and seeks every young man out there getting their bread be into one crime or the other.

Na people like you go dey ur friend inbox dey type "I'm happy for you" meanwhile your full of jealousy.

💯

He should've stayed in Guinea....the minute he began using that port his prints triggered interpol red notice already filed against him, even though the names were different

He could have lived in those West African countries forever, so long as he avoided biometrics while moving between countries. He's not so smart afterall

Stand to be corrected. True 27 still has it, but most are not actively using it except for the SE states such as Alabama, Mississippi, and others.
Imagine as many murders that occur in the US daily, only 25 people were executed, and most were very controversial.
