Although Nigeria is in a bad shape, 550k is still great. More important is that we all have to live within our means. The value of money lies in how wisely you use it to meet your needs and achieve your goals. The figure is secondary. E.g., a good pair of shoes (not necessarily a branded original) typically starts at around 70k in Idumota. But, you can still get a good quality, custom-made pair from a local shoemaker in your neighborhood for half the price. Again, the value of money lies in your hands. Before you spend 20k eating out at one sitting as a single guy, think about paying a caterer to cook same food for you in your house. You will get more quantity (large enough to store), better taste, more value for your money, and better hygiene. Again, the value of money lies in your hands. 256 Likes 27 Shares |

He has to keep updating his skill set ..if he does that himself, that won't get him anywhere but if the firm pays for it, then he should manage.

I am not saying it's a great salary... It's fair. But why do the guys above have to convert to dollar and pound like that's the currency spent in Nigeria! 97 Likes 12 Shares |

It is small, too small but not bad for a start. Rent would take 100 to 200k monthly Same with transportation Nothing significant left to eat and develop oneself 16 Likes 7 Shares |

12/hr and 120/day. That's barely 3days wages in UK. He's right. It is small. But it looks big to any Nigerian graduate right now.

I can't work even N2m per month. To be sincere, it depends on your level of skills. N2M per month to me is an insult, and I mean it. 36 Likes 4 Shares |

When you have not attained certain degree of financial status some thousands of naira may look big to you.The fact remains new level of financial status attracts bigger responsibilities and changes your taste. For instance,if a man manages to live in a low income environment in a one-room apartment by the time he begins to earn more he changes location and probably moves in into two-bedroom apartment and changes clique of friends.Again there are some people who constantly look up to you for financial aid that may be too hard for you to turn down hence the crave for more money.
