RE: Anambra Never Chop Belle Full, Go Feed Them, Justice Ori replies Solomon Semaka, Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State.

I saw on Nairaland, an online news platform on Wednesday 16 April, a statement credited to Mr Solomon Semaka, the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on National Programs, Civil Society, Voter Education, and Strategic Interventions, accusing the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi, of attempting to use Benue State as a platform for political relevance.

Ordinarily, I should not have glorified Semaka with my response as the focus is now on how to address the issues of killings in Benue state, the massacre is unbearable with the latest being the reported killing of two soldiers in Jato-Aka town, Kwande Local Government Area of the State, the armed herders also killed a police officer and two farmers identified as Yenge Kwaghkuga and Bem Adughigbudu.

Solomon Semaka should be ashamed to talk amidst the killings going on in Benue state, as a responsible follower, Semaka should collaborate with anybody ready to offer any to calm the situation in the state than launching attack.

Recall, on Monday, Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, said he could not guarantee the safety of any individual or group visiting the state without approval from relevant authorities, this made Obi to abort his visit to the state, as he had intended to visit Benue state to the internally displaced persons (IDPs), and offer some s to the state government. Peter Obi aborted his intended visit after all efforts to personally reach Gov Hyacinth Alia were frustrated.

It is on record that Peter Obi has been politically relevant for decades, Solomon Semaka asserting that Obi’s visit to the IDP’s in Benue State is for political relevance is baseless, an attempt to shift attention from the real situation in the state.

Solomon Semaka should encourage his principal, Governor Hyacinth Alia to acknowledge failing in his primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties of Benue people and boldly apologize like his counterpart in Plateau State, This apologies should be compounded with readiness to collaborate with all those concerned to proffer lasting solutions to the killings in the state, this is not time for politics but time for great synergy.

His philanthropy began when he became Governor, even at that, it wasn't his money, it was Anambra State's money. Then after leaving office, he was giving out money only to South East region, mostly Anambra. So, the narrative that he has been doing this in every part of the country since he was born is a big fat lie.

However, I won't say he should go and feed Anambra people, I think Soludo has been up to the task lately and has improved security situation the state. My own demand is for the Agulu fraud to set up camera and go to Enugu communities that have been attacked and displaced by herdsmen. Let his charity begin from home.

So of all the menaces and insurgency bedeviling the state, all the myopic SPA abi PSA could play was partisan politics. If Peter Obi was of APC, would he had made such comments? I think it's high time we outgrown this shady political display and focus on the real leadership. Numerous incidents of killing in the state which preceded the tenure of Gov.
