Thank you for this, however, there are some officers in the list that their corps were not properly captured. Thus the following are what i know to be fact concerning some of the officers.

Gen Alwali KAZIR was an Artillery Officer
Gen Martin Luther Agwai was an Armour Officer
Gen Azubuike Ihejerika was an Engineer Officer

You yourself, do you see any heroes there? Look at the state of the army and soldiers right now.

I would pick Lt Gen Sanni Abacha because he was able to protect the seat of power as COAS and also as CDS. He was also loyal to General IBB all his lifetime. I wish we can have majority of such people now! Lastly, the person who posted the news did a mistake about Lt Geneal Ihejirika corps. He was in Engineers, not infanty
Racoon:
Lt General Salisu Ibrahim is my best COAS. Followed by General Martin Luther Agwai, Major Mohammed Christian Ali and Lt General Sanni Abacha.

As would be expected, the infantry corps of the army( mother of all corps) really dominated and personalized the COAS position over the ages.

Please help me ask him if he saw an Edo, Efik, Urhobo or any other major ethnic group in the South there too..... to think the SE is the same region we are hearing are struggling to fill their quota for recruitment yet those that have been filling it on a steady still don't even have one COAS

COAS comes from NDA intake, not korofo intake

How many of those tribe occupy a full geopolitical zone... When people say igbos are marginalised they usually mean south east

1/6 of every position in nigeria should be people from South East... If that's not the case it's marginalization

Absolutely correct ny bro. Lt General Ihejirika was in engineer corps
ucheicon:
Correct some information. Chris Alli is from Kogi not Delta. Azubuike Ihejirika was an Engineers officer not Infantry. Aliyu Mohammed was actually an Infantry officer. He just spent alot of his career in senior Intelligence roles as a result of trust by his superiors and competence. An example of this is also Brig Gen Sabo,DMI under Abacha. He was an Infantry officer

How many Igbo names did you see on that list?

But you blame the South East youths for shunning the ongoing military recruitment

Rest in Peace to General Lagbaja and Atahiru.
Only God knows what exactly killed them in office.
Any official News in Nigeria don't have NAFDAC number.
They are all brave Soldiers apart from Tukur Burutia that so many of our young and promising Soldiers died under his watch in the North East and North West.
They need to probe the tenure of that man.

Lt Gen Sanni Abacha..."85 to 1990.
Security stability during his period was uncommon...all west African countries were under his watch.

Am not a Tinubu fan. . But I love the way the way the man has been able to stamp names of Yoruba people in major power roles in the nation.

The man no send anybody.

Look at the list therein, it was until Tinubu came that you could see a Yoruba name there (apart from no. 6).

See NNPC leadership overhaul, I love what he did there. Same in many other key places.

Hausa and Fulanis have permeated everywhere, and turned those systems upside down. Let others try too.

Only lions can have any meaningful impact in tough places like Nigeria.

The best Chief of Army staff in Nigeria is Gen Azubike Ihejirika who under his regime Nigeria never lost any local government to BOKO HARAM ( according to Baba Jide Otitoju of TVC).

This man was so ruthless to BOKO HARAM that the northern leaders were crying up and down threatening to drag him to ICJ.

You said it all....he was even going to the theatre of war fighting n directing the fights against boko haram then in Borno state until the radicals in the North called for his removal!

It was under him that BUHARI made the useless statement, AN ATTACK ON BOKO HARAM IS AN ATTACK ON THE NORTH.

It was under this man that the army dealt a big blow to all the criminal kidnapping gangs terrorising Abia State and Abia became peaceful again.

Let's give honor to who honor is due.

God bless you Gen Azubike Ihejirika.
