Security operatives on Monday fired tear gas at women protesting against the emergency rule in Rivers State and the reinstatement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The protesters numbering about 200, condemned the appointment of a Sole in the state.

As the women marched and chanted solidarity songs in of Fubara, they displayed placards with various inscriptions while security operatives, including the police, tried to stop them from advancing.

Some of the inscriptions on the placards reads, ‘Ibas leave us alone’,’Our democracy is threatened’, and among others.

Following the refusal of the women to back down on the protest, operatives, including the police fired tear gas to dispatch the woman who ran helter-skelter.

A viral video which later surfaced showed some of the women crying after inhaling the substance from the teargas canister, insisting that they want Governor Fubara to return to power.

Some of the women sat on the ground and rained causes on the policeman, saying, “No Sim no Rivers State’

The Nigerian Police Force was proactive

No room for hooliganism in Rivers State

Military personnel’s should be on high alert in case situations get out of hand.

But they allowed the pro emergency rule protest to continue. Our problem in this country is the law enforcement agencies. They're too docile and don't know when to strike a balance

They need that teargas very well.
Did these old women enjoy the money with the politicians that sponsored that protest?
Do well to also post the pictures of the old women you people brought out for protest, making a mockery of yourself not those old women.

Pro SOLAD protesters were fully clothed but the other group was a big disappointment. The pro Fubara should be protesting like civilised people.

Foolish women.
They deserve brain-resetting slaps.

The Fubara you are protesting for, did he you?
Did Fubara's wife them?
Fubara's side-chicks nko?
Did Fubara's daughters them?
Did Fubara's sisters them?

Some other nonentities were protesting in of SOE.
Did you see Ibas' wife there?
Wike's wife nko?

Anyone who protests in of politicians is a fool.

Lawless country with Lawless police force...we need to coin out the kind of democracy with military mentality we practice in this country because this is not the democracy the founders of democracy envisaged....protest is not a crime in democracy. But then we can call emilakoncracy

Na selective enforcemet be this

The first group of women who protested with strongly encourged, them nor share perfume A.K.A "tear gas" give them, but these against the godfathers in Abuja who doused with a good measure of government perfume

The Godfathers have shown where their allegiance lies; nothing like impartiality
