It is very expensive to take care of a family these days so I understand why most young men are hesitant to get married undecided

Any bachelor that is managing shouldn't get hooked by marriage o.

Na serious matter now.

Many Nigerians now are superly suffering and smiling.

Dem no dey telli person.

Suffering raised to the power of 2. grin

It also isn't helping that a lot of women want a man to be a sole provider.

Marriage is not by force!

It's not all of us that will be married!
It's not all of us that will be rich!
It's not all of us that will be poor!
It's not all of us that will be with kids!
It's not all of us that will be with house or any other properties!
Na Grace we see!

Marriage is not about money but about two minds that are ready to become one. Provisons comes from God. Don't allow your bank to determine your future because nobody nows tomorrow.

Honestly, this hit home. People act like turning 30 automatically means you should be ready for marriage, but life doesn’t always work that way. It’s not just about finding "the one"—it’s also about affording the life that comes with it. ₦500k sounds like a lot until rent, bills, food, and transport humble you real quick. The pressure is real, but so is the struggle. Peace of mind > societal timelines, any day.

Ogbeni it's just life and general globally..... You youth is meant for training your kids.... What I can advice is if you have the capabilities to run businesses successful to an extent you good..... Because salary earners dy loose job.... Me don go far with my children and the rhythm is awesome

The pressure on men to get married once they hit their 30s is honestly exhausting. In our society, the moment a man enters his 30s, people start acting like he’s overdue for marriage—throwing jabs, cracking jokes, or outright questioning his decisions.

But what many don’t talk about is the financial reality behind it all.

Marriage isn’t just about love; it’s a serious financial commitment. And let’s be real—it’s tough out here. Some men are earning as much as ₦500,000 a month and still don’t feel ready to marry, because even that amount barely sustains one person, let alone a family. When survival is the goal, the thought of taking on more responsibility can be downright scary.

Sometimes, it’s not even about unwillingness. It’s about survival. Stability. Peace of mind.

How do you handle the pressure?
If you’re a man in your 30s, have you felt this pressure too?
If you’re already married, did you feel financially and emotionally ready when you tied the knot?

Let’s talk. Share your thoughts in the comments.
You got it all wrong, firstly, you said 500,000 naira can barely sustain someone in a month,I must say you have fallen prey to societal deceit and lies,of which you will not be able to achieve anything in life, until you change your mindset.

Having said that,I want you to know that in life, you don't wait for everything to be one hundred percent before you embark on any venture, marriage inclusive.

If you are already having income that can averagely sustain you, then you can as well start a family.

With time, you will be surprised the way things will improve, because you are now working with the mindset that you have a family to take care of and other bills to pay.

Some of these wealthy people you see and ire, startled small, some of them started from a one room apartment.

I'm average financially but loathe any semblance of laziness combined with entitlement and selfishness, many ladies fall into this category I don't want to be the answer of ladies in this group praying for a millionaire as a husband this is why I'm taking my time. Mine has no reason to do with finance....

Stop believing these lies,

You create whatever you want in life for yourself, you have to be purposeful or else life will give you whatever it pleases, which in most cases are undesirable things.

So, those things you wrote up there are the national anthem of lazy folks, who can't work hard and make good and right choices in life

The truth is most guys are tired of Nigerian women undecided and their mentality. And all these Nigerian men who are reluctant to marry at 30 will gladly marry ladies from other countries at any given opportunitygrin grin.
Even the married one are tired they are just struggling with the pains from marrying an average woke and entitled Nigerian lady. That's why most married Nigerian men die b4 their time.
My take is this make enough money in your 20s or early 30s then look for a babe from other African countries to marry just like how most Nigerian male celebrities are currently doing cool

I am in my mid thirties and unmarried. Finance being the main reason. I can't add another mouth to mine when what I have can barely care for my expenses.
