But why can't Obi advise the present government on how to make our currency stronger?

South Sudan left Sudan and people were using them as example of how Biafra will fail if they leave Nigeria.

Look at South Sudan today, fastest growing economy by far!

Most of the thriving businessmen based in Ghana converted the Cedi to Nigerian Naira during the last " Detty December" and guess what ? They shut down most clubs around the VI/Lekki Axis.

We understand the elementary economics of "Real Value" and Nominal Value of a currency, however, the Naira is seriously undervalued.

It's an affront on a country with FX reserves in excess of $30B and an intimidating large youth population termed to be one of the most underutilized globally to have a exchange rate of $1-N1600

FreeStuffsNG:

Lol at Cedi forming strong. Smh.

Cedi was redenominated in 2007 by knocking off 4 zeroes and since then has lost more than 10 times in value such that 1 new cedi is today equivalent of almost 1 million old cedis.

From 2007 till date, Naira had nearly depreciated by 15 times yet the Ghanaian cedi had depreciated by more than x100,000!

So only ignorant folks will not see the folly of including the Ghanaian cedi on the list. Naira is far worth more! A million cedis in 2007 is now worth about $1 in Ghana whereas a million naira in 2007 is worth about between $600-700 today.

The Ghanaian cedi should not even be on the list in practical .

A guy at a bank was telling me that Nigeria is rich that see naira everywhere.

I asked him one question:

Outside Nigeria, where can you spend naira?

He went mute.

Your naira is only internal.

You have not said anything!

Apart from the US$ and perhaps the British pounds or Euro every other currency is only useful in its country of origin! undecided

Currency strength is not about exchange rate to the dollar.

An illiterate from vanguard wrote this list.

Currency power is about purchasing power.

If Nigeria redenomiate it's currency like Ghana did and we removed 00 from 1k.
1usd = 1.50usd

Does that change the purchasing power?

Olodo, if you remove 00, it would give you N16 and not N1.5. APC has destroyed this country una no wan gree.

If you have brain, you will know that smart Ghanaians will rather hold their assets in naira. I will not glorify your touted pecuniary migration to Ghana for serious crimes, internet fraud and money laundering to evade EFCC and NDLEA jail.

Nigerians are very stupid to allow them selves to be this devalued.

Imagine small Tunisia with nothing.

Even small Jamaica island currency is bigger than ours.

We are very foolish to all WTC regulate our value and devalue us like this.

Bleep all you religious and tribal fools.

Stop it ! I say stop it!

I am trying to be respectful on this public forum or else I would have called you an a**h**e.

An average Ghanian from a Anglophone country would hedge in CFA instead of the Naira. What's the futuristic attraction on the Naira please and why is a Ghanian going to crave Nigerian currency more ?

Ghana has enjoyed more economic benefits and especially new tourists in the last 4 years and just cedeed the position to Nigeria as a result of [b]detty december.

Naira is a local currency just like other country's currencies.

It's only internationally accepted currencies that you can see bn used in international trade and transactions like, USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUS.
USD bn mostly acceptable.

Like the banker you asked the question studied Education Religion in school.

That’s alright.

- Decisively deal with insecurity.
- Make agriculture your priority.
- Stop the reckless looting and stealing of public resources.
- Deal with all forms of corrupt practices.
- Get the industries to work.
- Get the exports going.
- Protect all rare earth’s minerals and make generate huge revenues through them.
- Increase oil exploration and production.
- Block all avenues of stealing oil

Stop this reckless devaluation, borrowing, etc.
President to end frequent medical tourism to . The French President does not come to Nigeria for medical tourism of “state visit”. He should fix the healthcare system in this country.

Naira will begin to pick up.

Instead of “renewed hope agenda”, let’s have “Make Nigeria Great For The First Time ( MNGFTFT)”, just like Trump’s MAGA agenda.
All those things you listed will only work when CBN stopped printing trillions of nairas

Very stupid for that matter

Who are you benchmarking you Goat ?

I am sure I had a PhD before you finished Primary school.

Educate me ? Thunder cover your mouth Goat.

What's there to educate when it's in plain sight, Ghana' s currency and it's "Nominal"and "Real Value" vs the Nigerian Naira value ? Or is the sub-topic more than that ?

Igbo traders who do inter-country trade between Ghana, Benin Republic and Togo especially in apparels and second hand clothes & designer shoes have commenced backward intergration to Aba Shoe market and clothes market.

Ask people who know Vespa market and Fibre Market what's up.

Oponu oshi.

Bring it on !
