1 dollar was equal 0.62 naira then.

So that was 8,870,967,741 dollars . 8.8 billion dollars.

8.8 billion dollars in today's rate will be 13.8 trillion naira.

If you go further to factor the inflation rate in USA. 8.8 billion dollars in 1976 is worth around 45 billion dollars in 2025. Which is 69 trillion naira.

So we can conclude that 1976 budget is higher than 2025 budget in purchasing power.

Money supply troubles, and excess printing of currency to meet unproductive needs. Naira was $1.40.

That was huge back then. I can recall my daily school budget back in Secondary school was #60, this covers my transport to and fro, plus break money.

Naira in this current dispensation is so.....

Same set of problems we had 50 years ago are still with us today.

But to our flat, heads brothers, na Tinubu cause all of Nigeria's problems since he took office 2 years ago.

What I love most about Akanbi is the fact that he has ignored them completely. Just going about his business of bringing development to every nook and crannies of the country. Not for once has he answered back. True genius!

Was life better then for the average Nigerian than it is today, even though we have more individuals who are stinkingly rich today?

Is it nor curious that Baba Iyabo endorsed an economic olodo to be president over the candidate of the party that rescued him from Abacha's prison and made him president? Can it be out of Obasanjo's jealousy against Jonathan's better by far socioeconomic performance?
What else could be the old man's motivation

citizenisb:
ormer President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.

The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the istration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this istration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.

“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

Ignorant people are the clowns ing Tinubu.

They choose delusion over facts.

Which regime did we see an astronomical increase of petrol price like that of 165 to 1,000 naira, if not that of TINUBULATION alone?

A large crowd of Lagosians was filmed in a long queue struggling to collect a loaf of bread. To maintain order, several military personnel were on the ground to control the crowd. This has triggered a lot of reactions online.

Nigeria just like useless comparison, the United States budget as 1976 was about 350 billions, last year was about 7 trillion dollars.
Every country in the world experienced it.
