Man Returns to Nigeria After 23 Years, Family Declares Him Mad to Steal His Property

A South Africa-based Nigerian man returned to Nigeria after 23 years to claim the property he had been sending money for. However, his family took him to an Islamic cleric (Alfa), where he was held against his will and labeled a man.

The man, who introduced himself as Bayo Salami, explained that he is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and owns a business called Kuvuki Empire.

He is also a top show promoter in South Africa and has organized major events for popular Nigerian artists such as Davido, Wizkid, M.I, and Banky W. To his claims, he stated that people could find him on social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube under his company name.

Further explaining his ordeal, Bayo revealed that upon arriving in Nigeria, he asked his family about his properties. They claimed the properties were still under development, but he chose not to argue and simply requested to return to South Africa.

However, his family insisted on taking him to an Alfa for prayers, saying it would bring him God’s blessings. Trusting them, he agreed. But upon arriving, the cleric asked him to enter a room, supposedly for prayers. To his shock, the cleric suddenly pushed him inside and locked the door.
Inside, he found other individuals who had been held there for over a year in terrible living conditions. Bayo was kept there against his will for 17 days.

When asked how he survived, he explained that his family occasionally brought him food, sometimes twice a day.

As for why he was taken there, his family claimed it was because he smoked cigarettes. Expressing his disbelief, he said, “I have been to Dubai, where they don’t drink alcohol but smoke cigarettes. Nowhere in the Quran or Bible is smoking cigarettes forbidden. I am not a drunk.”

Watch the video to hear him recount his shocking experience at the hands of his own family in Nigeria.

Ironically, the south Africans we like to taunt as being xenophobic didn't harm him all those years, but the hypocritical Nigerians are the ones with evil intentions towards their own.

Most Nigerianns are terribly wicked and corrupt and we all magically expect a Saint to be elected among us to lead us..

Nigerians are still the problem of Nigeria.

The guy is lucky because their plan for him was not good. After a while they will poison him or put substances in his food that will actually make him mad. They might also be looking for buyers to harvest his organs for money rituals.

The country don reach like that. Na to keep your mouth closed and walk like sey you no get one kobo. I no trust anybody again

This is a good initiative. Hopefully, mongrels won't have any excuse for typing without reading details.

Some families are extremely strict. This is a good example of pointless authority. Maybe he smoked marijuana, hence they foresaw a Fela situation coming his way. From the write-up, it seems he's doing good for himself. He should return to his hustle.

I think the man brought it on himself sha.
A big shot like that could not at least hire an agent to build house for him, instead he trusted his family. Let's say there's nothing wrong with that. How about at least coming around once in a while to inspect this so called property they're building for him? South Africa to Lagos is just about 6hrs flight, he couldn't make that once every few years to see what was going on? And what documents did they send him for the land they bought, did he get an independent person to the documents?
Trusting family blindly can be most times worse than trusting a total stranger.

This man must count himself very lucky, going by the antecedent of the tribe involved,he could easily have been taken to one Babalawo, whom will in turn cast a spell on him to instantly run mad or equally killed and the body parts sold to ritualist,as there is high demand for human parts in that part of the country.
Some people claim sophistry yet they still have slave caves where people whom are percieved not to have kept islamic injunctions are imprisoned.
Btw I thought they say Islam isn't by compulsion and there is no sharia law in south west, why are the 'sharia police(mallam)',locking up smokers or those who drinks?
The young man should just take the next available flight to Jo'borg and forfeit the said property, especially if it is not in Lagos,as I think houses in other states in that region has no real value. Your life matters most!

I have an acquaintance in SA who knows him personally and he attested to the fact that the man has been battling drug abuse issues.

That aside, the family has some explanations to do to clear the air on his accusations.
