He would not have done that under the despot called Babangida. That man and his group were intoxicated by power and very wicked in their days.

Even this Oshiomole was said to have criticized Obasanjo in the morning during his time as NLC leader on a particular day, in the evening of same day Murray Ben Bruce visited Obasanjo and met the two of the drinking and laughing together.
He is now a saint.

Without Nwosu, nobody would be talking about June 12th today

He insisted on conducting that elections when attempts were made to stop it

He went court to have the elections results stand

He tendered the election results in court and they became public documents, which is even how MKO knew he won

Without Nwosu, there would have been no June 12th
@the bold, that's very funny, grin Not even only Abiola, everybody knew he won the election, it wasn't by ballot for God's sake. What the hell are you saying

Humphrey Nwosu was remarkable considering that his idea of option A4 made Abiola possible. With Option A4 Humphrey Nwosu beat the army generals in their game. Without Option A4 there will be no stolen mandate in the first place. So, Humphrey has his place in history as the man who created a flawless electoral process that sent the army back to their barracks. I know that history will him; even place him higher in time to come. He is immortalized already.

His job as the electoral umpire was to run the elections based on the military edicts provided as the enabling laws by the military ruling Council. He did this job perfectly well in this regard shouldbe honoured... If you want to add "suicide" as part of the qualifying demands to be the electoral umpire, you should have tried doing the job yourself to set an example for others to follow..
Illiterate, the national electoral Commission was established to conduct elections in consistent with the 1979 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. The military was using the 1979 constitution, the judiciary were interpreting the laws in consistent with the 1979 constitution. As at 1992, NEC had been conducting elections into various elective positions, as Nigeria was transitioning into a democratic system. Nwosu failed woefully as an umpire empowered by the constitution. He chickened out when the entire nation needed him most.

Abaribe knows his people too well, that’s why he keeps winning without any tangible constituency project to his name. He knows his people only adore chronic bigots and despise those Ibo politicians who are known to be moderate.
That’s why the likes of Ojukwu, Nnamdi Kanu, Obi, Abaribe, etc are hero-worshipped despite no significant legacy to their name while the likes of Rochas, Umahi and Soludo are despised.

He didn't confess, yet the generality of Nigerians concluded that Abiola won the election and the government went ahead to give Abiola honour post humoursly. Is it not treacherous that the man at the head of the commission that conducted elections adjudged the freest and fairest in the land is being lampooned for not confessing that Abiola won the election. Since the deceased neither announced nor confessed that Abiola won the election, it would have been concluded that the election was inconclusive and leave it at that.

No mind Abaribe all he does there is to be a tribal bigot, imagine a senator advocating for the release of Kanu the terrorist, now clamouring for an Igbo man who connived to rig June 12 to be immortalised.

Immortlisation are for people that sacrificed... Awolowo, Lateef Jakande, Pa Enahoro, Fela not self centred people who did nothing. Abaribe is a waste and a disgrace.
It is because of another election is fast approaching and he needed another format outside Nmandi kanu release to be voted for again. He can go and name his village after him. An umpire who failed to declare the winner and that singular act from him, later led to the death of the winner after declaring himself winner. All this easterners taught other part of the country are stupid. Thank God Oshiomole spoke cos they have already been crying and saying the Yorubas senator kicked against it and this is no longer one Nigeria. So if you bring up useless issue because of one Nigeria, others should accept. You people knows we are one Nigeria but you keep importing fake drugs and expired one to the country. A spade will always be called spade, no matter the cry from any quarters. In an ideal manner, Nwosu family suppose to apologize to the Abiola family.

What's the deal there? Let them name the building after him. But the issue is that why now? What happened all the years that he was alive? And why is there always a tribal tint to it? Why do all South East senators need to want him to have a national honour? Is the honour because of whatever he did, or because it is from the South East?

Exactly my submission. An umpire who was afraid to announce the winner of election he conducted that the winner didn't sit in the office but useless Abaribe who knows another election cycle is approaching and want to whip up sentiment to be voted for again by his constituents. Kudos to Oshiobaba my representative. We say it at it is in my zone. Let Abaribe and co from their zone, immortalize him by even naming his village after Nwosu.

Read his book before drawing conclusions. He was ordered by the military to stop collation of the results. Later he was sacked. He wrote a book acknowledging the winner of the election. He even said it on interviews.

You were making sense until you said Odumegwu Ojukwu had no legacy to his name.

Go and read the biography of Ojukwu, because I don't think you were born before civil war.

But obi people said only Yoruba senators are against it! Any reasonable person will see this move as a gross misplaced of priorities and criminality! His cowardice for not announcing the result led to the arrest of this man, yet those ipob senators wanted him to be immortalised! If he’s that important to them how have they immortalised him in their region? If you pay good attention to this people ,you will realised they are the most hypocritical reprobates in Nigeria! Just wanted to always look for opportunities to forment trouble for no reason! Thank God Una papa na hin president, he matched Una madness!
cowardice is a word Nigerians used in describing yoruba people e.g oladipo a military general was caught on camera kneeling before abacha crying begging also adisa but your calling a civilian threatened by armed soldier a coward, escobar tinubu was it not in UK he was doing his own nadeco? Why did he ran to UK?

The real winner had been declared and he is sitting in aso rock. Keep being delusional like your fellow tribeman. Obi won and he was scoring 22k in a whole state of over 2m voters. Do you people think the 2023 election was only conducted in southern Nigeria alone. Obi lost weofully in north west and north east. He didnt even score 500k vote combination of the two zone of over 10m voters. How will he have gotten votes in the moslems dominated Northern states when he centered his campaign on religion. Yes daddy, this election is a religious war. It can't be forgotten in the history of Nigeria election.

Humphrey Nwosu is No Hero – Let’s Be Honest

Honoring Humphrey Nwosu in the same breath as MKO Abiola is an insult to history.

After Abacha died, MKO Abiola died—a clear signal that forces beyond Nwosu were at play. But in moments where great men stand up to cement their legacy, Nwosu remained silent.

He had one duty: affirm that MKO won fair and square. He didn’t.

Why?
• Fear of IBB? Maybe.
• Pressure from the military? Likely.
• But history only re the bold, not the cautious.

Compare Him to True Heroes

Today, we have INEC commissioners risking their lives to declare results under threats, some even at gunpoint, yet standing firm.
• Some have lost their lives for announcing the rightful winners.
• Nwosu had none of that courage.

Senator Abaribe’s Calls for Immortalization? Nothing to See Here.

He was just a civil servant. He did his job—but nothing extra.
• He didn’t fight for justice.
• He didn’t push against the annulment.
• He didn’t defend the mandate of the people.

Greatness is defined by what you do when it matters most.

Humphrey Nwosu is no hero.
He was just a bureaucrat who stayed within the lines.
Nigeria inec? cheesy grin angry the one their computer start to malfunction when Peter obi was bashing escobar in lagos? grin

It's like I am missing something in this June 12 issue.

There is no longer a question of whether Abiola won the elections or not. It's been established that he won, from results made available, and he has subsequently been honoured.

Who collated the results that established Abiola as the winner of the elections?

Who was announcing the results before being interrupted by the Commander-in-Chief of the country?

Despite going against the wishes of the military Head of State to conduct the freest and fairest elections, Nwosu isn't appreciated.

Except there is something else I am oblivious about, I smell a tribal connotation in this. This is all because Prof. Nwosu is an Igbo man and nothing more!
