Secondly, wen FUBARA returns, he too will remove all appointees of and asks his own to return to offices.

Meanwhile, with so much widespread condermation,Tinubu doesn't have that boldness to remove FUBARA permanently under any guise.

IPOB politics and analysis is always based on emotion and hope, no wonder the people can never have a president in Nigeria. IPOB people are useless. It's very easy to tell when a post is written by an IPOB goat.

Their Appointment is illegal because constitutional the House of Assembly have to approve the appointment so as far as am concerned it's temporary and has nothing to do with the Governor

Hmmm...

I think by the time the Governor returns, he will find himself working with and surrounded by people he didn't appoint.

I also suspect that as part of the settlement deal for his return, he will have to agree to appoint a certain number of Commissioners, and key political appointees nominated by the Wike side.

There's also a good chance that Mr Fubara will meet a new Chief Justice.

The local governments too will most certainly not be under his control.

All of these will leave a returned Mr Fubara defenestrated, and more or less toothless. In office but not in power. He will still be able to govern, but only on acceptable to, and probably dictated by the Wike side.

If the above plays out as I speculate, Mr Fubara will have been on the receiving end of one of the most ruthless political beatings ever ditched out to a Governor since 1999.

I've always believed there are few words in English I've not come across.

I only pay keen attention to Farook Kperogi for possible new words.

But for you to craft in this new word (defenestrated) into your line with such independent ease and familiarity; a word I've never come across in my entire 21 years of law practice, bro I salute you.

I'll give you a follow sharpally!

Those saying the Sole lacks the power to suspend political appointees are incorrect.

According to Wikipedia:

'A state of emergency is a situation in which a government is empowered to put through policies that it would normally not be permitted to do, for the safety and protection of its citizens.'

When there's a state of emergency like the type in Rivers State, norms including even parts of the Nigerian constitution and most democratic practices are suspended temporarily.

So, provisions of the Nigerian constitution concerning the usual process for appointing Commissioners, including the role of the House of Assembly do not apply while an extraordinary SOE is in place.

Until people understand this, they will continue to wrongly believe that the sole is acting illegally.

He is not.

Since your senseless Elders in Rivers state can't settle their fights, they will bring someone with more sense than you to settle it.

Imagine an Odili picking sides instead of the settling it.

Unfortunately he will have to submit such names to the house and certainly they won't be clear .

meaning he has no power to appoint once return.

They're breaking Fubara's structures.
When Fubara is back, he may be a tree in a forest. Good thing for Fubara is that Rivers people are fully behind him
When you say (just like many others have said here) "Rivers people are fully behind him", do you mean ijaws plus Ikweres or just the ijaws.

I am asking you this because Wike made a statement recently that the ijaws in Rivers are a fringe minority and the only place they can win an election with their numbers is Bayelsa state.

Even the likes of Asari, an ijaws have decided to jump ship and align with the powers that be...so where is the validity of that your claim?

You forgot that he has to go before the State House of Assembly to make presentation of those names? Fubara is not Trump o!

2027 is here already and if he keeps grandstanding like some of you will urge him to do...hmmm...he will be surprised how he wouldn't have done anything tangible cos Wike is ready to go the whole 9 yards with him.

Take it or leave it Fubara has everything to lose and Wike has none, it stands.

This is how you box yourself into a corner!

Fubara is NEVER coming back to that gubernatorial seat. The initial 6 months suspension will be extended for another six months.
Except the supreme Court upturns the state of emergency Fubara is finished as a political force in Rivers state.

Nigeria’s democracy is being gutted in broad daylight, and the culprit is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has now assumed the power to erase an entire democratically elected government at will. The appointment of Vice-iral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Retd.) as Sole of Rivers State is nothing but a blatant power grab, a move so anti-democratic that it reeks of military-era dictatorship.

Who gave Ibas a mandate? No one. He wasn’t elected. He wasn’t chosen by the people. Yet, here he is, dismissing an entire government like a colonial viceroy. The suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and every single elected legislator in Rivers State is nothing short of a political coup—one that erases the will of the people and replaces it with an emperor’s decree.

And what is the justification? “Political tensions” and “pipeline vandalism.” Convenient excuses. If insecurity justifies the complete dissolution of an elected government, then why is Tinubu still in office despite the country spiraling into economic ruin, banditry, and kidnappings?

This is the creeping autocracy Nigerians should fear. Rivers State is just the beginning. Today, Fubara is suspended. Tomorrow, who’s next? If we accept this, no state is safe from federal hijacking. Democracy dies when elections no longer matter.

Tinubu, history is watching. Nigerians are watching. And this shameless power play will not be forgotten.
I feel your pain sincerely but what you wrote is out of context, watch how fubara will comeback stronger because he would he analyzed the situation and do better, he understand whats happening and he has not said anything but social media warrior and emergency political analyst like you who are just emotional and one sided are saying all this because we all know it is a faceless app.

Help yourself, pick up some books on governance. Do some little study on Nigeria constitution. I believe, by the time you do this, your sense of reasoning would have improved.

since you have studied the constitution and your sense of reasoning has improved, I am surprised you could not answer a single question he asked.

Racoon:
What does this mean now again? Why this act of constitutional abuse. Were all these appointees also suspended by the the illegal SoE? What kind of precedence is this lawless government setting?

Fubara is coming back before the expiration of the 6 months suspension with clarity and more understanding of how politics work, he has learnt that he needs to compromise for peace sake and not listen to the outside world when governing, he will also learn he is not the most powerful but can be powerful if he has the backing of the House, imagine when Bukola Saraki was in power did buhari achieve anything?
i hope he has learnt but for sure Fubara is coming back

Listen and do not fight, all appointees will go because the is just there not to make laws but to only keep the system running, like paying salaries, supervision of on going projects, completion of ongoing project, calming the environment.
he cannot make any law, he cannot prepare budget if he needs funds it is only Mr. President through the confirmation from the house that can give him. so he does not need all those appointees sir.
