Do you have the capacity to produce solar? ... Development of such capacity would take 10 years really

Any Nigeria solar company who can't produce cheaper solar s with cheaper labour, cheap power, and raw materials is not serious

This is same rubbish we did in poultry, Brazil produce chicken at 700 dollars per ton... We are at 3000 dollars plus per ton

Protectionist have never worked in history n its only attractive to uneducated people
correct me if I'm wrong, but china is the master of protectionist. ( Try exporting to china). In my uneducated opinion, I feel foodstuffs are items protectionist policies shouldn't be on

Say what you know.
Do you consider Innoson an assembler or a manufacturer of vehicles?

In fact, there is no electronics manufacture that is also not an assembler of parts.

Google is free to use!

Innoson is an assembler of CKD parts. They are not even the ones who do the design or conceptualisation of the vehicles they sell therefore they do not qualify as manufacturers

As the government is planning to ban importation of solar so also the government should be planning and strategizing a way to curb fake solar s by setting up a strict quality control mechanism unless rooftops will start to go kaboom.

If the Nigerian made solar s are so good, let them export it and make some dollar profit instead of creating a new cabal in renewable energy. You need to see the eay people are ditching useless NEPA for renewables.

Very soon Nigeria will be the most renewable energy reliant country in the globe.

I agree with you in the entirety.....I've been enjoying solar lately...wanna upgrade soon...
..Ogun will kill all Nigerian politicians who are victimizing the populace to the advantage of their capitalist friends.

Nigerian Government! Destiny killers. undecided undecided undecided undecided...Where is the factory and capacity to churn out the quantity required for the large market? where is the raw material needed ? where is the power required to drive this factory? have you reduced taxes so they dont translate to high consumer prices? Lithium is in abundance here but finds its way to china as raw material. Nigerian Government, DESTINY KILLERS!

Well what I want say is that, since the country is looking for fire, may hell fire consume it.

Nigerians were warned about this Assembly of mad men known as the APC, but they refused to hear. They fell for the smooth and sugar coated tongue of the APC miscreants. Now, see where we are.

They banned rice even before a single rice paddy was planted.

They banned chicken without making conscious efforts to grow the capacity of internal livestock production.

Now, they've taken their leprosy hands to solar s in a country whose overall power generation is not up to the generation that some states, not countries, in some African countries generate.

Only a mad man will keep doing the same thing and think he'll get different results.

This is what they should have started, bringing in the Chinese, telling them to set up factories in Nigeria to manufacture these s and other solar gadgets, give them to federal workers at subsidised rates, it will flood the market and many will have alternative power supply.
But on a second thought, they can come tomorrow and say they want to start taxing people with solar power supply oo angry

Nigerians and subsidy. What is it about Federal workers that they qualify for subsidesed s over and above everybody else

This is the reason why they want to ban the importation.
More and more residences and business are going fully or partially solar, removing themselves from the Grid. Ordinarily this should be good news to The DISCOs as demand is low..however due to their gross inefficiency, estimated billing is their bread and butter , so with more people off the grid, lesser revenue is being made.
By the time 30% of their customers are on Solar, demand for power is low, and their revenue plummet that's why they're rushing to FG to save them from Solar
They once tried to introduce a form of informal tax on residences with Solar installation, going from house to house searching for Solar installation and serving them loss of revenue notice..the reaction they got from people put paid to that
So this is how they intend to keep us in darkness..
Ban the importation and stifle the market.
They know local production can never match demand in a million years..and definitely inferior products at inflated costs..another rice dilemma.

You're right bro...

Bad leaders = Bad policies

Same mistake Buhari made banning importation of rice . Are we producing enough, can it serve the large populace, is d price merge between local and imported ones reasonable??

There is nothing special about producing solar s once all the materials are available . The only problem we will be having is the Nigerian factor of greed and selfishness

than complainin too much and stoppin people to get things cheaper fg should be investin in nigerians that understand solar s the same way they did with dangote....

dangote is a hugh success today....
try to find nigerians that understand renewable energie and use goverment funds to invest in them....

their are nigerians that already understand how to build solar s....just in low levels....

the same way their are people that understand how to refine crude oil tey tey....but we call them criminals than use their knowledge....

You dont have a clue do you? Solar power is getting cheaper by the day and PHCN is losing out, the powers that may be are losing money cos as small as N500k you can have 24hrs power depending on what you need it for.My parents now have 24hrs power by me spending just N1m,Lighs, fan,TV,No more darkness.
please recommend me a strong and good solar system for the amount (500k). For just 24 inch tv, 12 volts decoder, dc fan, and 8 lightning points.

Nigerian solar s on top of your roof

That's a very big risk na.
Moreover you don't need to half importation to boost local production. Make locally produced goods more preferable and people will go for it
It is not about Nigeria solar s, infact there is nothing like Nigeria solar s. If they are talking about lithium battery, it is understandable.
Getting solar cells from silicon is energy consuming, even we decided to buy already purified silicon, I doubt if we currently have any company that does the secondary process. The guy is simply saying what he doesn't know.

Personally i bought their s 2 years ago at Karishi Abuja, and its still working very fine, it was a bit expensive than the Chinese ones, but more rugged because the chinese ones are not working anymore...

Curiosity made me browse through their website NASENI and i found out they have 11 developing with different mandate, i thought it was only situated in Abuja.
I know naseni office in karshi, before the general hospital, do they produce solar s? How much did you buy yours?
