We will qualify keep the hope alive..... South Africa are playing the remaining games in their home but that will not be a problem. They will draw 2 and loose 1 against us.

Goke7: It is the coach that has the power to substitute players... if the coach would rather be stubborn and leave tired players on the pitch to defend when there are fit players on the bench then it is the coach's fault.. Ekong, Iwobi, Bassey, Lookman, Aina are foreign born players which means they cannot handle 90mins of Nigerian heat or African heat on the field so them playing more than 65 - 70 mins should be an abomination... Nigerian players with the attitude of Onyeka who can run all over field should be the ones getting invited. Foreign born players are good but they should not be allowed to play full match especially since they will start the next match. NFF and most Nigerians don't consider players fatigue and tiredness from previous matches can affect their performances.. 1 Like |

Amedino99:99% here don't believe we will qualify, but I am among the 1% that still believe we can qualify. I will wait for September/November games. It is not over until it is over. 2 Likes |

Mujtahida:Home based that cannot even make it out of group stage at CAF champions league and CAF confederations cup. Even With their good league, Argentina and Brazil hardly use home based players for international football. 3 Likes |

mekabuachi: The current generation of eagles are too over pampered, always on their phones, some are even content creators all manner of shenanigans and what do we get? Ikpeba some few weeks back threw a jab on these players even yabbed them they can’t play before Lagos fans, I was one of those who thought he was too extreme but after watching the crap played yesterday I think ikpeba is right. We shouldn’t be blaming the 94 set for being too proud and despising the generation after them. 3 Likes 1 Share |

![]() This thread is one of the problems of the Super Eagles. Some of you hype players like Chukwueze as if they were Lionel Messi, raising expectations to unrealistic heights based on false beliefs, only to be disappointed when reality sets in. To be fair, Chelle seems like a good coach. Tactically, he appears competent enough to take us to the next level. Blaming the NFF? Well, they are always the scapegoats, rather than addressing the overhyped players. As for the names most of you are mentioning as "missing," they wouldn’t make much of a difference. This is the same way 99% of players were hyped before their invitations and integration into the squad. Did they play like there was anything at stake? How many clear chances and opportunities were missed? Are we really going to pin all of this on Chelle or the NFF again? They’ve been tagged as Vibes FC, and they own it with their full chest, yet we somehow want to believe they’re still good enough to represent the Green and White. It’s time to give local players a chance to shine. Remo Stars or their feeders team, Beyond Limits, would destroy Zimbabwe with ease. 2 Likes |

mekabuachi: Morocco is close to Europe so their weather is similar to where their foreign born players grew up and train... Egypt mainly uses their home based players who play for Liverpool, Man City and other clubs in Europe.. Ekong, Iwobi, Bassey, Lookman, Aina grew up in cold climates and then moving to hot climates to play 90 mins football is madness of the NFF. |
Goke7: 8:36am On Mar 26 |
codemaniacs: For how long we will continue blaming coaches, the same eagles lost to Rwanda in uyo, drew SA in uyo haba! different coaches but same result of inability to win at home! And if we have players who can’t cope with our weather does that not mean we need a new approach for selection of players? Apart from the World Cup proper most of our competitions and matches will always be on the continent and with African opposition so where do we go from here? Keep inviting players who can’t last for more than 65 mins and keep losing games at home? |

Mujtahida: toluxe0075: home based means players like Osimhen, Awoniyi, Boniface, Onyeka, Onyedika, Nwakali, Sanusi e.t.c.. foreign based means players like Ekong, Iwobi, Bassey, Lookman, Aina, Dessers, Tella, Okoye e.t.c |

Zimbabwe had about four clear chances to score yesterday. Imagine if VAR was used, the ball that hit the crossbar could have been reviewed to determine whether it crossed the line. Chelle had his fault. At 87 minutes while your team was leading, you substituted a striker for another striker when you were supposed to protect the lead.. |

mekabuachi:Na Jesus go play the ball Lol We aren’t even sure of 2nd place & play off Super Eagles with lack of team cohesion cannot beat South Africa on their turf It’s impossible They can get a draw lol It’s not about playing in European league lol Those South Africans play together regularly |

codemaniacs:in no context, scenario or situation will osimhen, onyeka, Boniface and onyedika be classified as home based. Let's not change narratives please. |
codemaniacs: 8:44am On Mar 26 |
Goke7: it is the coach that is meant to create the formations and game plays that leads to the players scoring goals and how they defend and how they keep possession.. that's why in my paranoid mind I believe either Eguavoen ( the technical director ) or a group of people in the NFF are the ones forcing the coaches to use certain formations which end up giving the SE same bad results. |

Amedino99: that is what it means... before people were more specific by using the team "Nigerian born" or "Foreign born" players but they gradually changed it to "home based" players and "foreign based" players.. |

Well here we are. 1 win in 6 matches against very beatable opposition is simply not good enough. I personally feel bad for outstanding talents like Osimhen who give their all. Ordinarily setbacks like this will everyone humble enough to learn and fix the structural defects in our football but we dey ever learn. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory FC. SMH |

chrisooblog:NFF gambled and made Finidi coach They do things in a weird way Non transparent & non merit based body We also invité mediocre players to the squad because they play in Europe There’s no way Eagles will beat home based South Africans on their turf They’ve got cohesion, we don’t 1 Like |
