How i wish i am in Tinubu's shoe today. I would have revoked my proclamation and restored Fubara and the Lawmakers to mount the rings so as to resume and complete the impeachment processes. So, when the heaven start falling, i will just deploy soldiers to the borders of Rivers state so no one go fit run comot till they are done with killing themselves and burning your pipelines.
You will beg for the SOE and i will not listen because i know by then, the fuel price and long queue would have taught you lessons that its better and wiser to be PROACTIVE
Go and advise the Foolbara to use the next 6 months to amend and construct political bridges.

Big question still unanswered - does the president reserve the right to suspend an elected governor?

But if Governors have the right to suspend and remove elected LG Chairmen, then why shouldn't the President be able to do same to a Governor if the need arises?

99% of those in the house and senate have godfathers themselves or are either the godfathers. Fubara is a big foool.

Wasn't expecting anything different. Separation of power doesn't exit in Nigeria.

The legislative arm is just an extension of the executive. The only time the legislatures would counter the executive is during budget appropriation - constituency projects

Truth is quite different and more boring.

Nigeria needs is inching towards the 2m bpd crude it needs gor it's economy. The bomb blast cost it 450k of crude in one day.

No President will fail to secure its financial resources.

You can be sure that the Senate has been provided with evidence including video and wire tapping that shows who is behind the bomb blasts snd what this will mean for Federal Revenues. FederL Revenues impacts Govenors and federal legislators. You see where this is going?

Whenever you see any of the houses in closed door meeting it means there are issues ( usually security related) that can not see the light of day.

Now that the National Assembly hurdle is out of the way. What happens after 6 months? I think the contenders should just divide the Governance structure in Rivers by 50:50 or by any other percentage that may be agreed by the parties. Commissioners, Local governments and other appointments. This is not a fight between just Wike and Fubara. Wike has a team of on the ground soldiers in his political family across all local governments that fought/worked for the emergence of Fubara as a part of the family. Promises, negotiations and agreements were reached with some of them to step down and get their buy in to the candidacy of Fubara. That is how politics is played. There is no Father Christmas in Politics. Fubara can’t just come and push all of them away. He has to negotiate, compromise to keep power at least until 2027. He does not have the number to fight!

As rightly predicted, as long as Jagaban had sworn in the sole yesterday, it means everything is done and dusted. Today's plenary was just a formality.
Let those group of expired politicians and bunch of losers holding press conferences go and hug a nearby transformer.

After God na Tinubu 💪 God bless Nigeria

Next is Kano, after that Osun, then he will ensured no election till he dies, Akpabio will be happy. Let see how it will end. Even in America, judges are over turning Trump. The separation of power which was supposed to exist in Rivers resulted in all this situation today
Fubara decided that he would not allow any separation of power, he pulled down the state HOA complex, sacked 27 lawmakers and decided to use only 3 to run state. People like you who love separation of power failed to love separation of powers in Rivers. Why the double standard

Guy, go and read my prior comments on this issue. I am a concerned Nigeria not your regular political sycophant

If course , if the state of emergency is not approved then impeachment of the governor will be inevitable thereby resulting into more troubles and chaos in the state.

Yes! The Senate is not a rubberstamp otherwise, it would have "approved" the SoE since the proclamation was made.

One thing is clear...

The opposition parties are toothless, lame dogs!!!

It's a pity they can't prevail on their elected officers at the NASS..

We all know the ruling party doesn't have the numbers...so, how come things like this scaled through
.. despite all the noise from the opposition quarters

Shame on PDP, LP and NNPP
