What most of you don't know is that, the NA will definitely the move, not because of money as most of you will term it, but because of the arrant nonsense that Fubara did to their colleagues in the lower house House of Assembly. It's total abuse of the executive power for a governor to demolish another arms of government property without informing them earlier.
The only sensible comment so far. I wonder how someone who demolished a state's house of parliament hopes to get fair hearing in the National assembly. That singular act is his greatest undoing. That man is as good as "finished politically".

Speaker Abbass knows there's no way on earth he gets the required 2/3

To save face and remain in the good books of druggie, carries out an unconstitutional voice vote. How did they get 2/3 with the yehs and nays?

More like throwing the SHITBAG back to Balablue and the Judiciary grin > grin

Most of you that failed in school are now talking about constitution you never read nor even have. Even your common school assignment you have it to someone to write for you.

What you know is different from what they know...All you know is to wail, cry, shout, whine, make noise, type endlessly on social media and rant like a baby whose food was stolen and complain like one hungry poor soul...
At lease you people should always leave a space for when you will one day become a leader by not just complaining about everything...

Hey nitwit.. dont bother reply because i wont read from a dumb noise maker
So what did you quote me for if you won't want a reply?

Are you a motor park tout? Cause they are the ones I know who rant without waiting for reply

Chai!!

These people have collected agbado again

What is now the use of all these opposition in the House if a few grains of corn is all that is required to turn them over

Voice vote? This is patently illegal!! The constitution spells out 2/3! How can you confirm 2/3 by voice vote? Voice vote can only work for simple majority!!

Nigerian democracy is a joke

Instead of crying and gnashing your teeth in pain, go to court and seek judicial review of the decision of the House of Representatives.

What some of us don't know is that, you cannot continue to be lawless and expect growth. People are watching the lawlessness and injustice happening and they learning from it. The lawlessness will be one of the reason the economic growth you are expecting, you won't see.
Oga lawlessness doesn't have anything to do with economic growth.I was in senior secondary when obasajo was president of Nigeria,he was a very lawless president, but his achievements in the economy can't be matched by any presidents after him.

This only happens in a country where a criminal drug cartel man becomes the president.

Naija don cast.

Oga, it shows you have a smart and intelligent president. If not, how can one man be able to manipulate 360 people, of which some of them are Lawyers, Prof,. Dr. Etc. and you think it doesn't takes wisdom to manipulate them to believe in your course?

Lawmakers ing lawbreaking. Let us see how it ends. We are all here watching. The same tool they are using to illegally remove a democratically elected governor will be used on some of them soon.

They are arming a machinery against their political standing. Fubara today, some of them tomorrow. By then, there will be no constitution to save them.

What can now stop a third term.

That is, ALL the senators and HoR who are out of the country flown in today from their various trips and pilgrimage to seat and vote on it with the possibility that opposition also voted in of the motion since APC alone cannot form the required Quorum to make the SoE declaration stand. We dey watch in 5D screen.
Don't misunderstand the law.
A quorom is just one-third of .
APC definitely have more than 30% in the assembly.
And as for the two-thirds, it is the two-thirds of those present not the total .

Did they also approve the suspension of the elected officials and installation of a SA?

These are 2 different things as far as the law is concerned. Yes, he has the power to declare SOE (wether the current situation warrants it or not is a different debate). The HOR has approved it, fine.

DID THEY ALSO APPROVE THE IMPOSITION OF A SOLE AND SUSPENSION OF THE ELECTED OFFICIALS?

You cannot muddle both together and make a vote.

Meanwhile the okpolo eye president has already "sworn in" the SA even without the approval of NASS with regards to the SOE.

The constitution has been shattered.

Common sense sometimes prevail over the constitution .
This was what Sen. David Mark in his wisdom as then Senate President employed in the Doctrine of necessity to enable Dr. Goodluck Jonathan becomes acting president .
What happened between Chief Obafemi Awolowo & his former protege Chief Ladoke Akintola would have been child's play if the 27 unrepentant House of Assembly went ahead to impeach the Governor.
It's a preemptive measure by the President and he should be applauded not vilified.

Voice vote like primary school pupils which they are.

All those in favour, say yes and raise your hand. Utterly ridiculous for such a serious issue.

Constitutional lawyers over to you. Is that legal?.
The law says “2/3 Majority”.
The law speaks NUMBERS. Not echoes. If Tinubu is allowed to go ahead with this criminality against Nigeria’s Constitution, you can bid this democracy goodbye.

Nigerian democracy is a joke
There is a procedure

If there is a voice vote after calling the vote anyone is unhappy he can call for a counted vote
Usually the voice vote will show the mood in the room
In this case I suspect it was unanimous with no dissent

My Brother I tire for the kind illiterate wey full that country ooo! People don't even bother to read or watch before commenting. The vote was for considering the requests before quorum is formed and not to ratify the proclamation.
