What I learnt about history of science from my European schools is that in the dark ages, Europeans became religious fanatics and forgot all about science whereas the Arabs were less religious and focused on science, especially on ancient greek works. But I suspect the Europeans might be trying to take credit for Arabic science by claiming it is just the work of the ancient greeks.

He doesn’t know that every time he learns maths, he is literally learning what the Arabs discovered or developed. Geometry and Algebra, two major subdivisions that make up maths today, were developed by the Arabs.

It was the same Arabs who developed trigonometry. Trigonometry today is what we use to track satellites, moons, planets and everything else flying in the skies or outside the earth.

It is the same too with algorithms. Almost all social media sites, apps, and software out there today uses algorithm. Even AI relies on algorithms.

It was an Arab called Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi who developed algorithm. He is the same man that developed algebra. But trust the white man to slur “al-Khwarizmi” into “al-gebra” and “al-gorithm” just so we won’t know it was an Arab who developed it.

I believe he said that out of ignorance, the Arabic numerals (0-9) are the most commonly used symbols for writing numbers also Al-Zahrawi published a 1,500 page illustrated encyclopaedia of surgery techniques and tools called Kitab al Tasrif. The book went on to be used as a medical reference tool in Europe for 500 years. Alongside his surgical investigations, he developed surgical tools for C-sections
The first university in the world originated from the Arabic world, d very first medical centre is thought to have been constructed in Cairo in 872 by Ahmad ibn Tulun, the ‘Abbasid governor of Egypt
And one person for here claim Arabs made no contributions to science 🤣

I think "developed" or "discovered" are too strong, I think you should just say the field was named after the persons in question.
Algebra is too wide to have been developed or discovered by a person. Please guys don't talk about things you are not familiar with.

Algebra is like a house in construction, the builders are those whom we call algebrists, each one adds a stone to the house, we call that his work.

A field being named after someone doesn't mean that person was the first to venture in it. I'm almost sure that there are papers in which algorithms were detailed which precede the name algorithm. A cooking recipe is an algorithm.

Saying “it was named after the person in question” does not really capture why it was named after the person. There is a reason algorithm and algebra is named after Al-Khwarizmi and not after some other dude that contributed to it.

We all know no man is an island, and every invention and discovery is the work of multiple people who lived at different time periods. But there are always specific people who made very large contributions to the point where they are considered the “father”, "mother", or inventor of that thing.

For example, the Wright brothers did not make the first airplane, but they made the first practical airplane. Thomas Edison did not make the first light bulb either and neither did Graham Bell make the first telephone. But they are considered their respective inventors because they made the first practical versions of those things.

The same applies to Einstein who is considered the father of modern-day science and Galileo Galielei who is considered the father of modern astronomy. They all built on the work of others but they contributed so much that their contribution supercedes that of others. The same applies to Edison, Bell, and the Wright brothers too.

The same also applies to Al-Khwarizmi. He didn’t discover algebra and algorithm, but he made so much contribution to them that he is considered the father of algebra and father of algorithm, and both were named after him. That is why I said he developed it.

Are they also blaming we blacks and Arabs for the slave trade (while absolving the whites) out of ignorance? I followed their conversation today and I have followed their previous conversations over the last two years.

The only reason we cannot call these trio (Gbadebo19, Cancri, and Lawag3) “white-supremacists” is because they are not white. Imagine they were white. Would you accuse them of being ignorant or of being racists? You will likely call them racists and white supremacists. But you can’t do that now because they are black.

These people, for some reason, believe the white man is superior to us blacks. Even among the whites, they believe Americans are superior to Europeans and Europeans are superior to Eastern Europeans, particularly Russians.

They don’t care about any factual information. All they need is the one little evidence that proves their point and they will focus on it as if it represents the truth.

If 99 white men participated in slavery and one black man assisted them, they would focus on the black man and use that to claim we blacks were responsible for slavery. That isn’t ignorance. It is deceit and lies.

"When your sons get to our beautiful country they'll be traveling only via trains and buses". Then the absolutely stupid ignorant African father would shout "yes take them along". Then the sons gets shackled up and transported to the US like just another piece of commodity, but instead of traveling by train 🚆 he was rather asked to "pick up the ⚒️ hammer and start rails construction, this would be your life till the day your waist gives out and then we'll send you to heaven with this same hammer that you've used all your life"💔💔.

Like I have always said to you don't be stupid.

Show me just one of my post here on this thread that I implied that the white man is superior to us blacks? Just one.

During the slave trade the whites were not running around looking for blacks to kidnap and sell it was fellow Africans.

Or during wars against other people the defeated people were sold. Granted some of these wars were engineered by the whites and sometimes they disposed kings that do not want to trade in slaves.

But the abolished the slave trade the disposed a king in then in Lagos who continued to trade in slave.

The slave trade was a 50/50 venture we had an equal share in it some families became rich due to it.

The whites are in no way better than us. Granted they are more advanced for now.

All I have said are facts.

And when did I mention Arabs made no contribution to science?

They did and it was only for a short period during the golden age of Islam when a moderate caliph ruled over the moslem world. They allowed scientist from all over the world to Baghdad to learn and study and they learn from this scientist and philosophers The father of algebra I can't his name he was Persian and he came to Baghdad because it was the centre of excellence then in the whole world. They studied Hindu numerals from the people they have always despise and killed the Hindus and modified it into the Hindu Arabic numerals. They were at peace with everyone during this period . Hindus europeans Christians everyone philosophers scientist poets and all they all served in the court of Baghdad.

The golden age of Islam lasted over centuries but then I'm only referring to the short period when they was no jihad under a caliph that I can't his name.

All I know he was Abbasid and was killed for bot being Muslim enough. He allowed infidels to ride horses and hold high positions in society.

All I pointed out was the Arab slave trade was way worst than then trans Atlantic slave trade.

Which is true.

It lasted longer than a thousand years happened in a larger scale in of territories covered.

West and east Africa around the coast of Mozambique middle east all the way up to Instabul then Constantinople India even far as Indonesia they also traded European slaves from the Baltic and Spain.

Anyone that find a post of me implying that whites are more superior than blacks gets 500k and I'm serious about that.

We already have the nairaland "Martin Luther." Here you are trying to be the threads,"Frederick Douglass"

Dude, stop trying to distort truths.. I, too, have followed the conversation since yesterday.. I refrained myself from commenting because "slave trade" is such a sensitive topic..

The trio of Gbadebo19, Cancri, and Lawag are only making a comparison that the Arab slave trade was more deadly, more longer than the trans Atlantic slave trade..

Neither did any one of them say Africans started the slave trading. The whites started the trans Atlantic slave trade in collaboration with some natives. This is a fact. We can't also dispute the fact that some Africans benefited from selling their fellow Africans into slavery.

The Arabs also sold Africans into slavery. That's also fact. They started way before the Europeans and the Americans started making slave trade trips across the Atlantic..

The trio also never luad nor approved the Trans Atlantic slave trade but only seek to make a careful contrast of the two slave trade. So "girl" stops ranting.. All these emotional outbursts are embarrassing.

They also did not try to downgrade any particular race. Black or white. Someone from your team, the "human bull" was the one who made degortary remarks against both the white and black races..

It's so funny that you are calling people "racist".. You don't have to be white to be racist hope you know??

What a cliche man, what a cliche.. that's rich coming from a guy who dedicated a good part of his time some months ago in defending a know terrorist "Sinwar" whose terrorist organisation is responsible for the killings of women and children..All your fruitless efforts trying to tag him a hero failed .Someone who is globally recognised as a terrorist.
So what should we call you now??

What's with the new strategy of "emotional blackmail" first it was "Martin Luther" with his religious bul|shit and his sermons of religious telorance.. Now you with the race card.. All in the vein of drawing sympathy.. You guys are way out of sorts.

al-jabr is the short form of the name of the book. AL jabr is the origin of the English word Algebra.

Meanwhile, a Gaza ceasefire collapsed, and Trump's foreign policy missteps are raising concerns about U.S. influence and leverage. Critics say his impatience and lack of strategy are emboldening adversaries.

⚡Donald Trump expressed caution over closer ties between China and Russia, outlining plans to improve ties with two countries that have united in opposing the US on the world stage.

“As a student of history, which I am — and I’ve watched it all — the first thing you learn is you don’t want Russia and China to get together,” the US leader told Fox News, in comments that came shortly after he wrapped talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin that fell short of securing a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.

Trump’s embrace of Russia has been seen by some analysts as an attempt to split Moscow from Beijing, in a so-called “reverse Nixon” — a reference to America’s efforts in the Cold War era to divide the two powers.
