A viral video has sparked outrage online after showing Fulani herdsmen invading a farm with their cows and uprooting mature cassava plants to feed their livestock. The footage has left many questioning whether farming in Nigeria has become a crime.

From the video, it is evident that the farm is quite large, and the owner was likely preparing for harvest to reap the rewards of his investment. Unfortunately, that hope has now been shattered.

This raises an important question: How can farmers effectively secure their farms to prevent such incidents?

This is just pure wickedness. How can someone with a conscience feed another man's food and livelyhood to cows? How will they like it if these cows are butchered and fed to dogs?

Ask Nairaland resident ZOMBIES. They are the ones that are good in identifying criminals, They will tell you that these ones are not herdsmen, their god TUluMbU said the same when herdsmen killed daughter of Afenifere leader.

This is Najeriya for you.

What gives this guys the audacity to do this?

If you see a bird dancing in the road, the drummer is in the bush nearby.

They have their people all round the country in every barrack and police station.

It's a well planned matter, the rest of us are just sitting ducks.

Another case of disinformation.
https://www.apa.org/topics/journalism-facts/misinformation-disinformation

1. The spoken language is Fulani, until we have someone to translate . Nobody can claim to understand what is said.
2. No evidence of violence, or disagreement. Where are the farm owners.
3. It is a well known fact, that farmers often give out their farm to cattle herders for grazing in exchange for money

We should expect more anti-fulani propaganda in the coming years, as we edge close to May 2027 elections.

shocked it's not their fault, since the government has been turning blind eye to such activities for years now, but if the farmers take laws into their hands, same govt will blame the farmers, no be so.

Wickedness of the highest order. This is someone sweat of months just destroyed within minutes by some brutes unfit in a 21st century civilization.

And someone was sentenced to death by the SC for self defense from these marauders and killers. E no go better for Lord Lugard.

The newly created ministry of livestock might have given these barbarians some confidence.

It's not only Fulani that can rear cows . Some local power brokers also invest in cow and give to Fulani which make it hard for common farmer to fight back

If you attack or kill a Fulani in self defence, the court will adjudge you a criminal.

What will a common farmer do ?

1) set traps like "ganran" in your farm .

2) poison your plants .

3) buy your own knife or gun and when you **** any of them ,don't tell anyone.

4) form security association in your community.

5) practice cluster farming .

6) don't give them an inch of your land else they will invite more of their people and become menace , prevention is better than cure.

7) local farmers should delve into ranching so as to phase out foreign dominance in cow supply .

All of you complaining can you boycott meat for one day ? They destroy people's farms to feed our cravings for meat.

Just visit a local restaurant in your area and see how people are requesting for extra meat...

We are part of the problem

50 years ago, that farmland was bushland. Cows could graze and farmers could farm

Now it is farmland.

The problem is we are not ready to modernize farming and improve railway transport.

Do the above and all this will end

Ranches for cows up north, transport cows by train and that's that
