phantomxx:Nobody cares! A brave Fubara should not give the clowns any attention. Since the people are fully behind him including militants, he doesn't need to play stupid sympathy games any longer. He either accept he has lost all leverage or continue to fight as a brave man he is alleged to be. Public opinion is useless unless the election is holding tomorrow. Even at that, a ruthless and calculative player can suppress it. Case in point is Uzodinma who won a landslide despite being hated by everybody. The lawmakers will be silly to attend any meeting in any venue until Fubara presents the budget and release all their witheld salaries. At this point, Fubara has nothing to negotiate with. If they attend the meeting, Fubara will read it as a sign of weakness. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Xisnin: AND THEIR NON ATTENDANCE will read as what? 😂... the man is simply trying to tell the world "I have tried to make peace but they dont want it" so if I explore any other option left to me, do not blame me. Already, people are beginning to read their refusal to attend as a deliberate attempt to stall peace moves. And please note, you cannot expect him to present a budget when their plan is to go on recess immediately afterwards and shutdown the govt. |

Well, it’s a good call for peace in the state but I think the government is getting it wrong in some key area of decision as stated on the copy of the attached file to my comment. The governor generally does not decide the space of meeting for the legislative arm (state assembly); the legislative body itself, or its presiding officer, typically determines that. What the governor should do is to present the budget as instructed by the Supreme Court. The Invite is unnecessary because there is no relevance in what he state in the meeting because he’s supposed to pay the legislative their salaries and benefits. Failing to do that is unconstitutional and against the law. The governor should be careful with the people he listens to and avoid anything that will ruin and tarnish his image and make him politically irrelevant.

phantomxx: The outcome of the meeting will inform us if the legislative house accepts the invitation.... Just to let you know..... (1) The 2025 budget has to be resubmitted to the legitimate legislative house... (2) The legitimate legislative house demands a re-submission of the list of 19 commissioners to be screened for appointment for those who are there are illegitimate and not recognized by them.... In all let's see what the governor will lay before them. That meeting is not even anything to go by for that which will be discussed there will be personal issues and not necessarily for the State. When the autenhtic house seats afterwards then we will know whats the real deal. 1 Like |

Jessewizy: Only you have made a great sense here. The SSG has no powers to write the HOA inviting them for a meeting with the Governor. With the above, the Lawmakers won't honour the invitation nor reply to the letter. 2 Likes 1 Share |

opera1:I swear. He missed the opportunity when the president gave him some leverage but he was misled by some people like Ugo Chinese. Where is UGo now. Bro if you were the governor of Rivwrs state you will handle it better without getting to these stage. Nobody know Fugbara. I know right in hus mind he will be regretting some of hus actions 1 Like 2 Shares |

Nathanbreeze: Well, there are things we will leave at the discretion of his advisers and himself. It's worthy to note that 19 commissioners screened by the 3 house are illegitimate. This and more are what I think will be part of the discussion. All i see is someone will have to do something to save face and someone has to swallow his pride if he intends to come out right . 2 Likes 1 Share |

Arapmoi22: Well, let's get to see what will happen and let's see if the governors' handlers have upped their understanding of politics and politicking. If anything is to go by that invitation letter from the governor, is only a ploy to think he is the one who is in charge. There's still a lot he is yet to learn and know. He still does not understand the circumstances and situation he is in. It's seems like as at now, the office and title of Governor is still deceiving him thinking he is in charge. 1 Like 1 Share |

Ominous. Attend such a meeting at your own peril. Let Fubara go to the assembly and present the budget. A man that doesn't keep to his word. Only a foolish person will honour that invitation. No meeting is needed for our laws to be obeyed, which includes everything in that letter. The meeting is unnecessary and meaningless. 1 Like |

Kewtt:Also the HOA's disregard for the governor. They obviously still see him as a small boy, a boy who should never have been governor. I have never seen anywhere in this country where a HOA gave a governor anything like a summon talkless of a 48 hour ultimatum. What Fubara did is just a deliberate tit for tat. |
ddippset(m): 5:48am On Mar 10 |
Okpebholo1:Only in the mind of cowards, is he a loser. In the hearts of many Rivers people on the streets he is a fighter not a coward. He is obeying the Supreme Court, not bowing to a godfather,,, I hope you know this. We all how people insulted Ambode, for doing what you wanted Fubara to do... If he had just bowed down and allowed Wike possess his soul,, Am sure people like you would be calling him a coward today.. I repeat,, he is obeying the Supreme Court not bowing to Wike. That's a man! |
bixton(m): 7:10am On Mar 10 |
ddippset: I thought you fellas say Wike has the judiciary in his hands and has bought them off and buying judgment in his favour.... So why agree that the governor is only bowing to the supreme court order and not also to Wike !! ![]() Or do you now no longer agree that the judiciary has not been bought by Wike and he does do same with judgments? 1 Like 1 Share |

ddippset: You should be reminded that the legislators are not stooges to/of the governor. Rivers State is just a case study and with time such will be replicated in the entirety of the nation. The question you ought to ask is if the 48 hours ultimatum is lawful or unlawful and what does the law say about duration for such? 1 Like |

bixton:This deduction is terribly out of place. Lemme just put it this way for you; If Wike has to go through the Supreme Court to nail Fubara then he's nothing but an overrated plant. Sebi you get power, you be political wizard, you be powerful politician,, Why run to Supreme Court to help you nail Fubara? Think of it that way. |
ddippset(m): 7:56am On Mar 10 |
bixton:Definitely not. Summoning the Chief executive is not out of place. But giving an ultimatum is plain disrespectful... But it's lawful and Fubara has to abide. Fubara has in turn invited them...He knows they won't come but it's just a subtle reminder that he is the boss of the state. |
